What Does It Mean: From Glory to Glory?
“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass The Glory of The LORD, are changed into the same image from glory to Glory, even as by The Spirit of The LORD.” 2 Corinthians 3:18.
Paul is with a team of able Ministers who do not not need letters of commendations to prove the effectiveness of his Ministry.
It is the Ministry of the New Testament, from which his mandate is derived, and if anyone wanted validation, it is in the fruits among believers, whom The Gospel has changed!
The Old Covenant Ministry had glory, while this one of The New Covenant, exceeds in Glory!
The idea is two levels of glory. What was old — and what is of the new?
“Then The LORD said, “There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock. When My Glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with My Hand until I have passed by. Then I will remove My Hand and you will see my back; but My Face must not be seen!”” Exodus 33:21-23.
Two Glories here — and Moses is exposed to one; the Glory of The Back of God.
Under The Old Glory, no one sees The Glory of The Face and lives.
The Glory of The Face, is reserved to the future.
There is Glory of God’s Back — and there is The Glory of God’s Face.
On the Mount of Transfiguration, the Future Glory is announced.
When Jesus’s Face shone like sun and His clothes became as white as the light, and stood by His side were Moses and Elijah, the focus was on Him!
“This is My Beloved Son in whom I AM well pleased” (Matthew 3:17,17:5, Mark 1:11,9:7, Luke 3:22,9:35, 2 Peter 1:17)
This is a glimpse of The Glory of the Resurrected Christ — and He implored them not to tell it yet.
The Old Testament Glory is what we are being transformed from — and into The New Testament Glory.
It is The Glory of The Law.
Its The Glory of The Letter.
It is the code of The Letter under this Glory that kills.
And this Glory was to fade, to give way, so that men could be ushered into the Second Glory.
From Glory A to Glory B
Moses — I will not show you the glory of His Transfiguration — but I will show you The Glory of His Back. That’s what you will see!
Two Mountains — the Mount Sinai and the mount of Transfiguration. Again, two Mountains — two Glories!
We are being transformed from glory to Glory.
- Glory of The Back — to The Glory of The Face.
- Glory of the Letter — to The Glory of The Spirit.
- Glory of that which kills — to The Glory of that which give Life.
- Glory of The Law — to The Glory of Righteousness by Faith.
- Glory of The Face — is entrusted to the sons!
- The New Glory — is Concealed by time and it is also Revealed by time!
“And the child grew and was comforted of the Spirit and was in the deserts until the day of his showing unto Israel.” (Luke 1:18, 1:80)
“Look the lamb of God who takes away the sins!” (John 1:29)
The next time you talk about “from Glory to GLORY,” don’t stop at the cliché!
It is more than a statement of upgrade from one level of life to another level of getting things, it is about transforming from Shadow to Reality. A change of Identity.
Shalom,
