Where is the Unity in Prayer in The UK? — 6 Comments

  1. So true! Where I live in Devon, UK, we have been having an hour long, once weekly any Christian church of any denomination gathering for joint prayer for our town for the last 3 years, attended by at most 10 people and often less— it is not enough. We also have joint Church services 4x a year and our Ministers, Pastors, Vicars & church leaders pray together for 30 minutes weekly too.
We do pray a bit for the UK and a bit in repentance. There is also a case to be made for just lots and lots of Worship to draw us closer to Jesus and get us repenting on behalf of our nation. The Almighty is so gracious and full of mercy, but we do not deserve HIM.

  2. Chris, we started a prayer group in wath, open to all denominations, but there’s only about 2 or 3 come regularly. People are not desperate enough yet to pray. The only time people come together in unity is when there is a crisis. Call me sinical but I think the only way is for something drastic to happen to get people on their knees.

    • Hi Jose,
You’re not cynical at all, just right! Are you Wath HOP by any chance? I’ve tried, gently to reach Rachel to see if there’s any interest.
The point is – if we do nothing then we will achieve nothing. The whole idea is to link the few into a larger group who will agree in prayer together. We don’t need rules other than mutual respect. We don’t need a hierarchical structure of ‘management’. We may eventually need regional coordinators but beyond that all we need is a prayer movement of willing hearts to unite in prayer before the Lord. Initially I’m only looking at the UK but who knows . . .

All I’m doing is testing the water. If enough are interested and willing, then we may have the beginnings of a movement.
But if we dont try, we don’t succeed.

Email me through HKP – I’m sure Angus will pass it on, then perhaps we can start the ball rolling.

      God bless you

  3. Chris, al I can say, why look out for someone else? You start it, I will join. Praise God. I am already praying for the nations with a group of people. Blessings

    • Hi Karlene,
      Thanks for your response.
I’ve just posted a bit of an update on Facebook
      We’ll see how it goes

      God bless you

  4. …WeLL there you go again. I’m tryin’ to be quiet on comments but lately it’s a ‘pull’.
So, brother Chris, i hear you w/the agree on everything theology point. I’m w/ya at most.

But for the sake of the ‘seekers’ and scripture mixtures that may pop up – I think we agree, there are some theological beliefs that we know cannot be compromised.
1/ death, burial, and RESURRECTION of Jesus
(w/out belief in the resurrection, there’s nothing to Believe) Acts 1:3
    2/ Virgin birth of Jesus
3/ Jesus is fully MAN and fully GOD
4/ The Bible is the infallible, immutable, ‘inspired’ Word of GoD penned by men breathe by the Holy Spirit of God who is GoD manifest in 3rd person of the Trinity
5/ We worship 1 GoD manifest in 3 persons Father, Son, Holy Spirit
Holy Spirit is a person – not a force – He has personality – The Bible says Holy Spirit can be grieved…He teaches, He leads, guides, helps, comforts.

These foundational Truths are essential to know and understand for the Believer.

God Bless you man of GoD!…..and everybody who may read! Delighted to share w/GoD’s ppl.
