Why Do We Celebrate Christmas? — 8 Comments

  1. I do not understand what is so important of a tree to satan, It does not have a soul, it will rot and go back into the soil.?I do not want to disobey GOD, I love GOD, JESUS and the HOLY SPIRIT with all my heart, I just do not see putting a tree up at Christmas any different of having trees planted in a planter in the house, it is for decoration not to worship. I celebrate some of the Jewish Holidays too, Like on Hanukkah with the blue and silver and the menorah sitting on our dinning room table. I put up different pictures all over the house, I never have worshipped a picture. I just believe what is in my heart is the most important, wanting a pure heart and clean hands and all my sins forgiven is the most important part standing before GOD. It is not just about the tree, but having a picture of Christ praying at the rock or knocking at the door is beautiful. No one has seen GOD, but in our hearts, I feel we will know him that is our LORD and Master. When I see a picture of JESUS knocking at the door, I think of JESUS knocking on our hearts. When I see him praying at the rock, I think about him praying for all of us. I have gone for years not putting up a Christmas tree, due to my preacher grandson coming against it. I only see a tree as part of a forest, Jesus made the trees. I just can not see beyond of a tree in a planter in ones home or the shofar, and the menorah sitting on a table wrong, it is just that time of the year of the different seasons, changing like I put colorful leaves all over my table in Oct. and the some of the windows, but I have never worshipped a leaf. At 79 years old, I know or feel like JESUS Birthday was not in December, but the world wants to celebrate his Birthday in December. Does it matter so much as long as we celebrate him or acknowledge him in December. My Birthday is in November, but I was not suppose to be born until December. I came at 8 months instead of nine months. I see this in the natural, it does not matter which month my Birthday is celebrated. GOD looks on the heart, I believe this. All this about the seasons and what I put on my table or in my home, I pray it Glorifies GOD and does not cause him any grief over the way I have or have not done, I love him so much and I never want to do any thing that would hurt my LORD. pray for my understanding.

  2. Heather,

I’m including a link from Joseph Herrin that provides some good background on the Pagan origins of Christmas.

From my personal experience, letting go of Christmas is part of walking the narrow path, denying ourselves and stepping out of the world.  It is by no means an easy task and risks alienating loved ones who do not share our level of faith.  Satan has been leveraging our relationships since the original days in the garden when Eve enticed Adam into disobedience.

I’m also linking a prophecy the Lord gave to Raymond Aguilera regarding worship of the Christmas tree, which may well occur during the final days of wrath or great tribulation:

  3. Oh I am so glad to see this posting.  The Lord began to teach me these things way back in the 90’s and it took me about 5 years before I was finally obedient.  Through the years its been a very lonely season when the christmas celebrations begin because I have been totally alone in this.  Family and friends just think I am strange, but as one called apart for intercession I must obey my Lord.  Thank you.

  5. Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day.
    Colossians 2:16

Does this mean that one cannot sing any Christmas songs to the LORD? One cannot celebrate Christ without a tree (not like one is needed)? What shall replace Christmas with a holiday to honor Him?

  6. Sister, thank you for presenting the truth. Please pray that Yah will give all His children the boldness to speak his word and a humble spirit to receive His word in this hour. Blessings!

  7. Thank you, Geraldine. The Lord/Adonai began revealing this to me many years ago. I appreciate your research and pray for your ministry and daily sharing with others of the truth of the Scriptures.
    Blessings always,
    Dawn
