Why Does The LORD Show Me the Things He Shows Me?
Each morning, I receive a Word of encouragement, exhortation or insight from my son Isaac (the tall, handsome fellow who married the beautiful Hawaiian, Celestine.)
He is a seeker of truth.
Isaac sent this today. I want to encourage you to read the Word each day. Read with a desire to uncover truth this year.
“You do not desire a sacrifice, or I would offer one. You do not want a burnt offering. The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.”
Psalms 51:16-17 NLT
I don’t usually ask The LORD why he shows me the things he shows me, or why I am lead to read certain passages or scriptures.
I usually just take what I’m reading and wonder and pray on how to apply it into my life.
I thank him for the ways He blesses me and pours out into my spirit and ask Him for opportunities (whether big or small) to be a steward of what He does.
A vessel, and that’s all I am… whether a captain at the helm or a fisherman looking for a lighthouse.
We should thank God for the privilege to be called by his name and boast about our weaknesses, because when we are weak we then can be strong.
Emptying ourselves until our ambitions don’t even take up space.
What He shows me each time I read the Word is that “You can look forward or backwards through the ink in this Book — and you will always see The Truth.”
He uses the ones with scars, usually, because they know what broken feels like.
But with knowing how brokenness feels, they also know how the joy of being put back together and be made whole.
Bringing a repentant heart to the throne, though it might be all we have to offer sometimes, is the key to our life in Him.
Blessings,
Chuck D. Pierce
