The Whirlwind Called 2012 — 2 Comments

  1. At the end of 2012 I gathered three or four prophetic words that were quickened to me from various sources that were tucked away as I knew they were significant for 2013.  Each of them spoke what this post did…sudden change. In thinking pack to these posts, in my minds eye I see a 90′ angle and knew that the change would require a severe change of direction and not a casual change.

On March 14, that change came and within 24 hours I was no longer employed by a Christian employer I had worked for for 12 years as a drug and alcohol counselor. It was a position which God had richly blessed all concerned, and we’d seen souls saved and hundreds touched with increased blessing over the years as the young owners began to seriously seek the Lord.

Yet the change came through which I would call “ungodly circumstances.”  And as I sought the Lord, I knew it was time to “retire” and that the circumstances that had been detailed in those saved prophetic words were now Kairos…they were NOW.  One of the things in those words was that the “quick decision” would baffle the enemy and at the same time prepare the way for the whole new direction that the Lord was leading…and that this was the only way that I could move into that new direction.  So even seeing one of the ugliest displays of demonic power on a coworker and then upon my Christian boss, I knew that this was the Kairos time..that God had prepared me for.  So within 24 hours I had literally cleaned out my office and turned my keys in and told my clients I was retiring that day. I rode a wave of victory in the midst of something that had been black and uglier than anything I had personally experienced for years.  Even my boss was totally unaware of what he had been caught up in, which was a black cloud of demonic force. But what I was privileged to see, what that MY GOD WAS IN CONTROL and HE was making a change in my life and the direction of what He was doing.

Since March I have been on a whirlwind of change which has propelled me into a time of intimacy with Him unlike anything I have known before, but which I know is just the beginning of what God has in this period of time. Change continues in every area of my life and it makes no difference “what force” the Lord uses to bring about the change because HE IS LORD and I follow after Him and am not subject to the whims of the enemy!! For I serve the Risen Lord.

    Thanks for sharing this post.

  2. Acts 8:26-40
    New Living Translation (NLT)
26 As for Philip, an angel of the Lord said to him, “Go south[a] down the desert road that runs from Jerusalem to Gaza.” 27 So he started out, and he met the treasurer of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under the Kandake, the queen of Ethiopia. The eunuch had gone to Jerusalem to worship, 28 and he was now returning. Seated in his carriage, he was reading aloud from the book of the prophet Isaiah.
29 The Holy Spirit said to Philip, “Go over and walk along beside the carriage.”
30 Philip ran over and heard the man reading from the prophet Isaiah. Philip asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?”
31 The man replied, “How can I, unless someone instructs me?” And he urged Philip to come up into the carriage and sit with him.
32 The passage of Scripture he had been reading was this:
“He was led like a sheep to the slaughter.
And as a lamb is silent before the shearers,
he did not open his mouth.
33 He was humiliated and received no justice.
Who can speak of his descendants?
For his life was taken from the earth.”[b]
34 The eunuch asked Philip, “Tell me, was the prophet talking about himself or someone else?” 35 So beginning with this same Scripture, Philip told him the Good News about Jesus.
36 As they rode along, they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “Look! There’s some water! Why can’t I be baptized?”[c] 38 He ordered the carriage to stop, and they went down into the water, and Philip baptized him.
39 When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away. The eunuch never saw him again but went on his way rejoicing. 40 Meanwhile, Philip found himself farther north at the town of Azotus. He preached the Good News there and in every town along the way until he came to Caesarea.
