Attacking the Spirit of Indifference
The spirit of indifference manifests when people around you have shown no interest to help, to cover, and to support you during the time of your dire need.
What the Edomites were to the children of Israelites, well presents the spirit of indifference at work.
“For thy violence against thy brother Jacob shame shall cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off for ever.” Obadiah 1:10 KJV.
The Edomites were cousins of Israel through the line of Esau, and you will remember that Jacob is the one who took Esaus’ blessing.
So the relationship between these two sons of Isaac deteriorated and affected their lineage over time, without any genuine reconciliation.
The Edomites continuously harboured vengeance and resentments and waited for opportunity to retribute.
Over time, they acted in hostilities against Judah and Israel and when the Babylonians attacked Jerusalem and besieged it, the Edomites used that opportunity to mock and to show indifference towards judah, in that they stood aside and cheered on their destruction, blocked escaping refugees and handed the Israelite survivors over to the Babylonians.
Then they went into the city and looted it and possessed their possessions.
These were close cousins of the people of Israel, connected by blood and they ought to have supported their fellow brothers, but they never did so.
Instead, they stood aside and even joined forces with the enemy, using that opportunity to revenge on what Jacob did.
“In the day that thou stoodest on the other side, in the day that the strangers carried away captive his forces, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou wast as one of them.” Obadiah 1:11 KJV.
This is a spirit of wickedness.
As we continue to pray against the family wickedness, today we are dealing with the spirit of the Edomites.
They had great opportunity to come in and stand on the side of Israel and protect their fellow brothers and defend them against the Babylonians — but they were simply indifferent.
- The Edomites had military power.
- The Edomites’ geographical positioning, inhabiting the mountainous regions, provided them with safety and military leverage that they ought to have used to support Israel.
- They also had the most modern weapons at that time, the swords and other iron weapons that were not easily accessible to the children of Israel.
- They had the military numbers.
- The Edomites also had the money power, the wealth that they accumulated from the businesses around Tyre.
- When time came, they used all their resources to help the Babylonians against their blood brothers.
The spirit of indifference manifests when people who are supposed to stand by you, fall into the trap of the enemy and begin to hand you over to the enemy.
People close to you use their influence to hate you, mock you, ridicule you, and torment you.
The sin of indifference is long time bitterness grudge and jealousy that is used to frustrate the destiny of a close family member or relationship.
Prayer
✅ We are praying that any partnership of evil that manifests in indifference… to mock us is destroyed in Jesus’ Name.
✅ We are also praying that those who help the enemy to add to our pain and to afflict us on our path to our God-assigned purpose and destiny, that God will stop them in Jesus’ Name.
✅ The people around us that give wicked counsel let their counsel turn to foolishness in Jesus’ Name.
✅ We also pray that the broom of Zion will sweep off the enemy and totally obliterate them in Jesus’ Name, never to stand against us again.
✅ We also pray that the hand of the wicked are going to be frustrated so that they will not perform their evil enterprise against us in Jesus’ Name.
✅ We are praying that God will use whatever the enemy has meant for evil and turn it to our success in Jesus’ Name.
✅ We are praying that the glory of God will rise again over us, over our life, our families, and our church, in Jesus’ Name.
✅ We are praying that a gathering that is working against us will be a kingdom that is divided against itself, so that it is brought to desolation.
✅ Let the house of wicked counsel and tables of corruptions be divided against itself so that will not stand. (Mathew 12:25)

Esau is the one who took Jacob’s blessing???
This is backwards, it was Jacob who took Esau’s blessing.
See Genesis 27
Thanks Joi
Have asked Prophet Peter to review.
