This Is a Generation That Is More Concerned With the Outer Appearance of a Man Than Whats on the Inside of a Man!
Looks can be deceiving!
And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.
For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: all these evil things come from within, and defile the man, (Mark 7:20-23 KJV)
Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
These evil folks was more concerned about pleasing men; rather than God.
For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do, (Mark 7:7-8 KJV)
I had to ponder upon these cups and pots to understand why and what they represented and as I begin to seek The LORD.
He said that the cup and pots where symbolic for the human vessels; the hearts of men.
However, many in the old times kept money in these vessels and that money like all money became dirty, but yet the people same as today still valued it, even though the inside of the cup and pots where unclean to use to drink wine in!
The portion and the covenant of God regarding one’s relationship was marred and ruined because of this uncleanliness but yet the people hearts still desired and craved to keep the cup which was very unusual!
I believe that God is saying that sin and the craving of man’s heart is a lot like this in this generation!
We are so busy craving and wanting money, fame, power, the high seat that we don’t care if the inside of the cup is dirty or not as long as our fleshly desires are met!
Like the Scribes and the Pharisees who was more concerned with fulfilling their own traditions and religions they where willing to compromise both their relationship and there relationship with God just to fulfill there own devilish desires.
As I begin to meditate upon The LORD, He showed me that not only were these pots intended to hold that which was valuable, such as money and wine, but spiritually they were for the holding of that new wine; the Holy Ghost, but the cups and vessels were like unto broken cisterns that Jeremiah spoke of when he declared the Word of The LORD, “My People have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water,” (Jeremiah 2:13)
I believe The LORD is making a clarion call to those who are broken on the inside of the cup but they seem to have it altogether based upon the outside of the cup!
The outside of the cup is useless, if it is not clean on the inside, for how can you drink and be full unless it is clean within?
