Daniel Fast Directives from Prophetess Phyllis Ford
and Prophetess Toni M. Green
August 8, 2012 8am to August 29, 2012 8am
Scriptural significance: Lord initially told us if we would pray, fast and stand – that He would do this: 1 Samuel 12:16 “Now therefore stand and see this great thing, which the LORD will do before your eyes.”
To honor this fast: We will weep (cry out before the Lord, mourn before His presence, while we fasting, we ask that you would read Psalm 119 daily beginning each day of the fast and follow each day with emphasis on each section. The dream of Rachel weeping & lamentation was significant to confirm this fast.
8am significance: It is the 5th watch and is significance for utterances and decrees to be released. Time to pray forth the anointing of the Holy Spirit to come upon God’s people to release wisdom for an deep understanding of His words and His ways. Pray for a great impartation, a great awakening, time for equipping the people of God for the fulfillment of the work of God to come in this hour. For the light of God’s word to enlighten us transform us and transition us into His plan for our assignments/destinies to be done in obedience to His word. That the spirit of Idolatry be broken and the high places to be removed.

This fast is not for the purpose of picking what we like and discarding what we don’t. It is a serious consecration. It’s about obedience and discipline — this fast is unto the Lord. I will be doing a variation of this above with legumes, olive oil, but I will eliminate items like breads, tofu, no popcorn, and no nuts. I will not add anything but hold to vegetables, fruits, beans, brown rice and water ( I will include herbs.) I will eliminate my one cup of coffee that I drink every morning which I love so much. Whatever you decide, be consistent — if during your fast — you desire to total fast while you are doing this Daniel Fast that is totally up to you. I don’t want the contents of this fast to take away from the focus of this Holy time before the Lord. Prayer and word study is essential for these times — it would be excellent for groups to gather, pray, and study God’s word. Take this time of fellowship with the Lord. A few asked if communion was acceptable with small amount of grape juice and small piece of cracker, that is okay.
I am looking for those who are serious in fasting and intercession to represent your region by joining us in this Daniel Fast — if you hear this call upon you by all means weigh in and name the region, the group, whether it be marketplace, city-state, by all means join us. There is much that will occur this month — some of it will happen while this fast is going on.
