Do You Know His Voice?
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:1-2.
Often we associate “worldliness” to things like drinking, smoking, perversion, or greed, amongst many other things.
But few believers consider just how much the things of the world have been entangled in our daily activities.
We subconsciously become addicted to things like social media, gossip, television, gaming, etc. — and for many, these things get more time, attention, and loyalty than spending time with the Most High.
We don’t realize that our brains have been conformed into thinking that being still, quiet, in peace, and selah, is boring, depressing, and even frightening.
Yet the Scriptures constantly tell us that this is how we come closer to YHVH-God.
Even Christ withdrew from the crowds and His disciples to spend time with His Father.
I’ve said for years that technology has replaced the voice of The Holy Spirit. But it has also replaced our time with the High Priest.
- How can one receive instructions from The LORD if they don’t know His Voice?
- And how will one know His Voice unless they spend time with Him?
Although you can click on a video, read a post, or listen to a podcast of some man or woman “of God” to hear what The LORD said to them, the real question is, “What has The LORD told you?”
- Instructions are personal
- Obedience is individual
- Relationship is intimate
- And His presence is found in the “selah”
