Fight and Recover All!

“Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.”
I heard The LORD say, “Recover All!
Step out of your comfort zone to get what is yours.
Fight for your rights!
Pray without ceasing!
I hear one prayer — and I hear ninety prayers!
Children — you can never pray too much! The more you talk to Me the less time you have to listen to the enemy’s voice.
There will always be a “Ram in the Bush” waiting to help when you pursue the cause.
Put the sickle in and thrust — cut off the enemy’s head!
Press your way forward even when you feel faint.
Your command is to pursue and over take.”
Pur·sue /pərˈso͞o/ Verb
1. Follow (someone or something) in order to catch or attack them,”The officer pursued the villian.” Run after, give chase, follow.
2. Continue or proceed along (a path or route).
O·ver·take /ˌōvərˈtāk/Verb
1. Catch up with and pass while traveling in the same direction.
2. Pull ahead of, leave behind, out distance, take gain, go faster, catch up with and pass. Come suddenly or unexpectedly.
“And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle. And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe. And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped. And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle. And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe. And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.” Revelation 14:14-19 (KJV)
My Thoughts
This is a strong word because The LORD is telling His people to be violent and rebel against the enemy’s plan.
Injustice is not our portion! The LORD has given us all things that pertain to life and Godliness.
“According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:” 2 Peter 1:3 (KJV)
We must press in to the Word of God.
If The LORD told you to apply for a specific job – would you obey?
Our sickle is the sharp Word of God.
We must thrust (push) the Word in the enemy’s face.
“For The Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 (KJV)
The LORD may not be calling anyone to a duel or physical fight — but He is certainly asking us to use wisdom and acquire knowledge about problems.
Make a list of challenges in your life and see what strategies The LORD provides. Do something don’t just sit in a pile of mess.
David prayed to The LORD for an answer. The answer came.
The LORD did not say, “Stand still and see the salvation of The LORD”.
He told David to pursue and overtake – in others words he told David to fight!
“And David inquired at The LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.” 1 Samuel 30:8.
My take away from this Word:
- Keep praying!
- Keep listening to God’s Voice!
- Know when The LORD is giving a command or instruction!
- Obey God’s Voice!
- God’s Plan for your life may frustrate others!
- Fight for your rights!
- Some battles will not be easy but fight anyway!
David and his men fought from twilight until the evening of the next day.
Be encouraged in your fight when you know The LORD gave the command.
God always answers prayer.
This word is an answer to someone’s Prayer.
Faith without works is dead. (James 2:14-26)
“And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.” James 2:16-18 (KJV)
“And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire; and had taken the women captives, that were therein: they slew not any, either great or small, but carried them away, and went on their way. So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives.
Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep. And David’s two wives were taken captives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite. And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in The LORD his God.
And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David. And David inquired at The LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all. So David went, he and the six hundred men that were with him, and came to the brook Besor, where those that were left behind stayed.
But David pursued, he and four hundred men: for two hundred abode behind, which were so faint that they could not go over the brook Besor. And they found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David, and gave him bread, and he did eat; and they made him drink water; and they gave him a piece of a cake of figs, and two clusters of raisins: and when he had eaten, his spirit came again to him: for he had eaten no bread, nor drunk any water, three days and three nights.
And David said unto him, To whom belongest thou? and whence art thou? And he said, I am a young man of Egypt, servant to an Amalekite; and my master left me, because three days agone I fell sick. We made an invasion upon the south of the Cherethites, and upon the coast which belongeth to Judah, and upon the south of Caleb; and we burned Ziklag with fire.
And David said to him, Canst thou bring me down to this company? And he said, Swear unto me by God, that thou wilt neither kill me, nor deliver me into the hands of my master, and I will bring thee down to this company. And when he had brought him down, behold, they were spread abroad upon all the earth, eating and drinking, and dancing, because of all the great spoil that they had taken out of the land of the Philistines, and out of the land of Judah.
And David smote them from the twilight even unto the evening of the next day: and there escaped not a man of them, save four hundred young men, which rode upon camels, and fled. And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away: and David rescued his two wives. And there was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil, nor any thing that they had taken to them: David recovered all.” 1 Samuel 30:1-19 (KJV)
