“Go through his open gates with great thanksgiving; enter his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and bless his name.” Psalm 100:4

This Scripture in the Living Bible says that you enter His gates with Thanksgiving.

This is not just a cute little song to get you to stop thinking of your troubles on a Sunday morning — but David was trying to tell us something here.

He lived a very troubled life with a lot of warfare all around Him. At one time the enemy stole his and his men’s wives and children — kind of like what just happened in Israel — but through it all David had a secret, but it was not so secret, because he wrote it down for all of us to understand, even in these days that we are living in and it is this.

You can be right in the middle of the biggest battle in your life (and many of us are) and if you will initiate the giving of thanks, you can enter into another realm that you can bring into your atmosphere and it will begin to change you and those around you!

Enter into another atmosphere

I would not be telling you this today, but The LORD wanted me to remind you today as you are preparing for whatever you are doing this week and the month ahead, that there is a place you can go when all the chaos begins that will shift the atmosphere from crazy to peace because you not only literally enter His gates with thanksgiving — but He enters yours.

The Word of God says that He inhabits our praise!

“Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.” Psalms 24:7

This is a key to your atmosphere changing, as many of you have heard me say before.

There is some kind of Spiritual Exchange that happens when you lift your head to the heavens and leave the chaos behind!

When you come up there and enter His Gates, then He comes down here and enters yours!

It is a supernatural thing that happens in our Thanksgiving — and if David had not learned it while being a Shepherd tending the flocks, he may have gotten eaten by the lion or the bear, but He knew that when he sang thanksgiving to The LORD, that God came and fought his battles for him, thus he knew that when he faced Goliath, that God would fight for Him no matter how big that giant was!

So, I am giving you a key to a happy Thanksgiving and Christmas season.

Not only give thanks to God so that He enters into your domain, but look at the good in others and thank God for them and thank them.

I am telling you that you will see a whole atmosphere change, and it will begin to break down hard core barriers that have built up between friends and family!

Make a point to thank them for who they are in your life.

I know that through all of the darkness that has been happening all around us, that it is easy to get a cold hard heart — but I am telling you that Thanksgiving will melt the hardness of your heart and the hearts of your loved ones.

I dare you to start not only a season of thanksgiving — but a life of it — and watch what God will do through you and them this year!

It will soften your heart toward them and then it will cause a great harvest of abundant life!
