Health ~ Don’t Decide to Not Decide!

I’m reminded of Jesus’ warning given to the tribulation saints regarding end time Babylon,

“And I heard another voice from heaven saying, ‘Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues,'”   Revelation 18:4.

There is an epidemic in the United States.  These plagues are pervasive and have become so ingrained in the minds of the people, that they do not remember, “life before Babylon.”

We have departed the path of health in our bodies as we have allowed the FDA to tell us what is and is not nutritious.

Whole foods are replaced by processed, packaged products that lie to the mouth and poison the body.

Whatever the craving whether it be chips and snacks, fast food or something we throw in the microwave, nutrition has been replaced with convenience.

Real food has been replaced with chemically designed manufactured products (I dare not call this food).

Diabetes and cancer are at their highest levels as people present themselves as soft targets through their food choices.

These diseases are often borne through problems with pH (acidity) in the body and of course LOTS of sugar to help them thrive and grow.

For that matter, many Americans have lost the ability to metabolize fats because their bodies rely on sugar.

Likewise, obesity rates continue to rise.  It has now extended into our children as they follow in the footsteps of their parents’ food choices.

After several years of futility and frustration with my weight and energy levels I had pretty much given up any real hope.

Then in June of last year the LORD changed the course of my life with a few simple but profound words, “You need to cut out the carbohydrates.”

I listened and responded.  Though it was difficult at first (my body was addicted to sugar) after several days I crossed over into ketosis (a process where the body begins burning fat instead of sugar for energy).

The energy level I experienced (and still experience) is nothing like what I have known before.

I feel good.  I feel healthy.  I feel strong.  My joints don’t hurt anymore.  Things that seemed like burdens before are now easy.

What I didn’t know was that God intended on using this for His glory.  This was not just about me shedding 50 excess pounds.  It was about a real and lasting change.

Recently He has shown me that my battle is not uncommon.

For His glory, His Kingdom and the health of His people He has shown a way out of “food Babylon.”

Do not receive her plagues that leave millions of Americans fighting lifelong battles with disease.

Healthy people are fit to serve in God’s Kingdom.  In no way am I saying that sick people are not but all of the restrictions, time, energy and money for medications (another issue I won’t go into) slows the Kingdom work and can bring it to a halt altogether.

The devil would love to keep God’s warriors on the sideline but the LORD says, “You do not take a man right off the couch and have him running an Olympic race.  First he must be trained and equipped for the task.”

I will not presume to administer the voice of God into your life when it comes to your personal decisions but I will say that if you are still reading there is a reason.

Take it to the LORD in prayer!

If you need help I will do what I can.  Whatever you do, don’t decide to not decide.

That is the most damaging decision of all.

“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers,”   3 John 1:2.
