America, How Would We Fare? — 10 Comments

  1. How would we fare?  Read Isaiah, chapter 18 and find out.  Isaiah agrees perfectly with George Washington’s vision at Valley Forge, According to both, there wont be much left of us, but the the children of God will survive.grt

  2. Yes, it took Ukraine for the church to talk about this while Bosnia, Yemen, Syria, Lybia, Hon Kong, Afghanistan, Iraq, etc suffered the same or similar consequences, many by the hands and/or decisions of our own corrupt military/government – crickets. We have been “nation building” for years. Our own Madeline Albright said the 5000,000 dead children from one of our wars was “worth it” I’m lost on our actions.

  3. ‘Love is as Strong as Death’
April 16, 2020, by Dana Jarvis

“Song of Solomon 8:6 says, “Love is as strong as death,” because love took Christ to His death.” ”

“He is saying to us, “Don’t be afraid or intimidated of the dragon’s floods, because when I reveal Myself to you, the revelation of My Love will be stronger than the rage of Satan.” ”

How can the Lord reveal His love to us in tribulation? Jesus prayed in the garden. The torment was as if Jesus was actually on the cross. However, Jesus found the disciples sleeping (Mark 14:37). There is a lesson for us. Now is the time for us to pray in the garden. Jesus didn’t just die on the cross, He suffered then He died. I suffer from severe and constant headache. Atypical facial pain represents the crown of thorns.

May I encourage you to pray in the garden for one hour each day? Some people may say, “But there is no blood, it is not real!” I think of the time when I underwent sinus surgery. After the operation I had a haemorrhage. I started vomiting blood and I nearly died. That is my garden. I don’t want to compete with other people about the seriousness of their illnesses. Instead of complaining, ask the Lord to reveal His love to you. Are there flowers in your garden? You cannot see the flowers in the dark.

  4. Your reflection shows how far we as a nation have departed from God. President Washington’s First Inaugural Prayer presented on April 30, 1789, “Almighty God; We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy holy protection; that Thou wilt incline the hearts of the citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to government; and entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow citizens of the United States at large. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication, we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.” During that speech to the American people, President Washington also uttered a prophetic warning: “We ought to be no less persuaded that the propitious smiles of heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and the right which heaven itself has ordained.” (Deuteronomy 28:15-68).

  5. Well spoken Stephen. May we truly humble ourselves, and thank God for His blessings and stay on our watch and pray, pray, pray! Blessings, Sandi Holman

  6. You are so correct, we are a hedonistic society. I feel especially for the people of the Donbas who for 8 years have been subjected to the most horrific evil one can imagine. Assassinations, deliberate shelling of civilians, kidnapping, rape, murder just to name some of the horrors they have been subjected to by the Nazis in theUkrainian government. Thankfully for them Russia has now put a stop to all that but not until after more than 10,000 dead. Really a sad testament to how evil the regime in Kiev is.

  7. Definitely something to be taking seriously.  Praying always, looking to the Lord for strength and help. God doesn’t hold these things against us, but it’s well past time to be seeking Him and asking, Lord how do I prepare for the things ahead! Also Praying for the people in the Ukraine who are suffering terribly!
