Jesus is Eternal
Deuteronomy reminds us of eternity.
Deuteronomy 33 says,
“The eternal God is your refuge.” Deuteronomy 33:27 emphasis added.
Notice how Moses wrote “eternal God” and not just “God.”
The focus here is about eternity.
This is hard for us to think about. because eternity is rarely in our minds.
Yet, we are told in Ecclesiastes 7 that it is wise to think about death often.
“A wise person thinks a lot about death, while a fool thinks only about having a good time.” Ecclesiastes 7:4 NLT
Although it sounds weird, we are to do it. It is a reminder that this world does not last long — and someday we will be living in Heaven with Jesus forever.
Sometimes we get so focused on this Earth, that we forget this life is temporary.
I heard a story about a man who died for 30 minutes on the operating table and he was able to speak with Jesus — and one thing Jesus wanted to show him, was life on Earth.
So Jesus showed this man a long beam of light and it was so long that you could not see the end of it.
Jesus explained that this string of light was a timeline… it was eternity.
Then Jesus cut the light with his fingernail and pulled out that small piece from the line of light.
Jesus then said that the small portion of light represented time on Earth.
So this beam of light goes on forever, but your life on Earth is only the width of a fingernail.
This life will come and go and it will be over before you know it — and someday we will be with Jesus.
So why are we worrying about small things on this Earth?
As Deuteronomy 33:27 says — the eternal God is our refuge.
Jesus is eternal and we will live forever. We can be next to Him and He will guide us and prosper us and protect us.
He is our safe spot. This world is temporary and very bad.
However, we serve a good God who is eternal. He has been around a long time and He will be here forever.
We can trust Jesus for He knows what He is doing.
Jesus says: “I want people to prepare themselves for the next life.
I have commanded you to do so.
Get ready!
Set your eyes on Me — for I will deliver you from this world, and you will be with Me forever!”

Praise God, in Jesus Christ, our Blessed Savior and Hope! Peace and greetings, brother Travis, extending the love of our heavenly Father and Jesus Christ to you!
I agree and I thank God for pressing upon your heart to share the message in this post, admiring your obedience unto the Lord – to share this with us.
This is so the truth, as sometimes we can get caught up, sidetracked with fleshly inventions or other activities that distracts us from going deeper in the Holy Spirit. Preparing ourselves as true believers in Jesus Christ, preparing others to get their houses in order for a permanent home and residence, through/in Christ, should always be our goal.
Glorifying the Eternal, The All Living God, in Jesus Christ, sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others, in prayer, fasting, reading, studying, meditating on God’s infallible Word, sharing his love with others, allowing the Lord to strip us from the flesh and worldliness, charged up daily in the Holy Spirit.
Thank you, for sharing! May the Lord continue using you for his Kingdom and Glory.
