Measuring the Honesty of Our Own Hearts — Self Examination — 5 Comments

  1. What a word of encouragement as I felt such despair in my journey of life today hurting and in pain I am thankful for this guidance to lean on Jesus when support is not there but hope must arise. Thank you

  2. Mary your post speaks to me – on the journey there are many of those experiences, and the time also came when I just didn’t respond. It hurt, and I prayed, God please remove that spirit from me and HE did.  It came to belittle my identity in the Lord, in front of others.

I read a quote not long ago that says “you didn’t remain quiet because you’re empty, you remained quiet because you’re full of answers.
    Blessings dear Mary.

  3. “My heart is not immediately drawn to thanksgiving and gratefulness for the faithfulness of God on display as I cling to the battered pieces that look like potential “rafts” of hope, only to find out that many of them have gaping holes or slow leaks in them.”

This expresses so perfectly what I have been going through in the last several years.

  4. Thank you Mary. The worst kind of suffering is caused by the spiritual authorities who understand what they are doing when they abuse the flock. They viciously demand forgiveness and condemn the victims after they caused people harm. What makes the recovery worse are the well wishers who condemn thr victims for their struggles in recovery. They claim to know everything about someone else’s suffering and why that suffering continues. The original abusers continue to mock while the spiritual people condemn the unrecovered for their lack of faith. Where is the heart of God in all this? Would he have joined the friends of Job in rebuking Job for his turmoil? I hear so many people blame the victims these days especially here. Who are they truly reaching out to? The rich and the powerful?
