Obtain Help From GOD
Paul experienced so much trouble in CHRIST and his ministry, but kept going great guns.
He was even violently stoned and left for dead once, but got up the next moment, dusted himself off, and went on about THE FATHER’s Business as though nothing had just happened to him — as though he had not just come out of the jaws of death.
He was in deaths often!
Why and how did he manage to keep going and triumphing?
He obtained help from GOD.
He said: “Therefore, having obtained Help from GOD, to this day I stand…” (Acts 26:22).
Oh, the brother had been through some (as they say Stateside).
He summed up some of his trials and tribulations in the following two Scriptures:
“Are they ministers of CHRIST? — I speak as a fool — I am more: in labors more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequently, in deaths often. From the Jews five times I received forty stripes minus one. Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep; in journeys often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils of my own countrymen, in perils of the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; in weariness and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness — besides the other things, what comes upon me daily: my deep concern for all the churches.” 2 Corinthians 11:23-28.
“But in all things we commend ourselves as ministers of GOD: in much patience, in tribulations, in needs, in distresses, in stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in fastings; by purity, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by THE HOLY SPIRIT, by sincere love, by THE WORD OF TRUTH, by The Power of GOD, by The Armor of Righteousness on the right hand and on the left, by honor and dishonor, by evil report and good report; as deceivers, and yet true; as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold we live; as chastened, and yet not killed; as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.” 2 Corinthians 6:4-10.
Like David, Paul battled many adversaries and adversities in his walk with GOD only because he obtained His Help, yes, His Grace (Acts 26:22; 1 Corinthians 15:10).
Our walk in GOD can only be with GOD. For with GOD all things are possible.
As THE LORD Himself has said, “Without Me you can do nothing.“ (John 15:5).
( Anything done without Him is a burdensome trouble brought upon oneself. )
And Paul said: “I can do all things through CHRIST Who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13.
Without JESUS we can do nothing. But we can do ALL THINGS through Him by His Strength.
Without GOD we can do nothing with GODly success. With GOD we can do all things given by Him.
Obtain Help from GOD. Just ask Him. :-)
“The LORD Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.” 2 Timothy 4:22.
“Farewell” Acts 15:29.
~ Jacob Addison Awagah
Jacob, an apostle of JESUS CHRIST by The Will of GOD, according to The Promise of Life Which is in CHRIST JESUS, (2 Timothy 1:1).
Like John, I like to put my head to The Heart of JESUS so as to know and do His Will always. What’s in His Heart is what matters now and FOREVER. His Heart’s Desire is my only desire. My will is to do His Will.
As John was, I am the disciple whom JESUS loves. And like Paul, I am “the prisoner of CHRIST JESUS” (Ephesians 3:1) for His Purpose forever: to obey Him always.
NB. Surely, the disciple whom JESUS loves and “the prisoner of CHRIST JESUS”, like ALL The Promises of GOD, are available to every believer to obtain, just as John and Paul did.
“And having been perfected, He [JESUS] became The Author of Eternal Salvation to all who obey Him,” Hebrews 5:9.
Amen, my bro.
