Peace for our Time — A Call to Prayer
Once again The LORD calls me away to meet with Him.
As I come into His Presence, I hear and see War!
I hear explosions. I see flashes of fire.
The LORD speaks, “Europe is headed to the brink of war, but it shall not happen!
I have placed a barrier of peace around Putin.
He doesn’t want War — and he will not rise to the taunts and provocation aimed his way!”
I see a group of people at a large meeting. They are getting very excited, even animated in their discussions.
The LORD speaks again, “This is a ‘Council of War,’ but they’re getting angry with each other.
As happened in 2 Kings 7, they fear a greater army coming against them, and with Trump withdrawing from NATO, they shall abandon their plans for War, because they will not pay the price!
Europe, without America, no longer poses a serious threat to anyone so all their ‘sabre rattling’ and ‘shield banging’ is noisy but harmless!
They will turn against each other, almost, but not quite, like the armies of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir in 2 Chronicles 20 who helped to destroy each other.”
Having said this, The LORD brought me back to my chair and the vision ended.
It seems to me that this is another call to prayer and intercession for ‘peace for our time’.
For those old enough and with a good memory to recall political catch phrases from yesteryear!
“Peace for our time” was a speech given by British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain on September 30, 1938.
The speech was made after he signed the Munich Agreement with Adolf Hitler.
Peace lasted almost exactly a year until the outbreak of WWII — so this vision is a salutary warning for us to learn from history and to pray today that everything happens according to The Word of The LORD.
“Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. And when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another. So when Judah came to a place overlooking the wilderness, they looked toward the multitude; and there were their dead bodies, fallen on the earth. No one had escaped.
When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away their spoil, they found among them an abundance of valuables on the dead bodies, and precious jewelry, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away; and they were three days gathering the spoil because there was so much.” 2 Chronicles 20:22-25 NKJV.
“Then, during the time when they were singing and praising, Adonai brought a surprise attack against the people of ‘Amon, Mo’av and Mount Se‘ir who had come to fight Y’hudah; and they were defeated. What happened was that the people of ‘Amon and Mo’av began attacking those people who lived by Mount Se‘ir, to kill and destroy them completely; and when they had finished off the people from Se‘ir, they set to work slaughtering one another. So when Y’hudah reached the watchtower overlooking the desert, they looked toward the horde; and there in front of them were corpses fallen to the ground; none had escaped. Y’hoshafat and his army came to take the spoil from them and found among them personal property in abundance and corpses with precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves until they couldn’t carry any more. They took three days just to collect the spoil, there was so much. “ 2 Chronicles 20:22-25 CJB.
