I saw a small bag of sand. An unseen hand poured the sand out into a small pile on a table.

I asked The LORD what I was watching. He said nothing, but I then saw another bag — same size as the first one.

I asked again, “What is it Lord?”

Again He said nothing, but the unseen hand emptied this second bag onto the table. It was dry soil. The LORD has a way of getting my attention!

“The sand represents the desert of your home area. It is dry. It is arid. Very little grows there, and even less lives there. It is almost barren,” says The LORD.

The truth of this was obvious to me, as we live in an area famous for having the lowest Church attendance in Europe — less than three percent (3%)!

“So what about the dry soil, LORD?” I asked.

“If you mix the soil into the sand, you will find you have an excellent growing medium for plants, especially young and newly planted ones.” He replied.

Then He continued, “The soil represents you, My Church, My People. When mixed properly into your area, you will change the desert into a fertile place ready for Sowing, Planting, and Harvesting.”

I thought about this analogy, how we would tend these young plants by feeding and watering them, growing them, discipling them.

The LORD stopped me at that point.

“No!” He said. “You won’t water them! I will pour out My Spirit on them, and He will water them.”

Then He continued

“if My People will first look to the desert in their own back yard; if they will first tend the desert in their own back yard; then I will revive that back yard first.

After that, having shown they can tend a small patch, I will enlarge their territory, I will expand their tent, and I will give them the world around them to tend.

If they cannot look after their own yard, how can they expect to look after a town, city, county, or country?”

The LORD may be showing us the road to Revival perhaps?
