The scripture speaks about selling God’s anointing.
A man named Simon tried to buy the power of God. He offered the apostles money for The Holy Ghost!
I believe this passage of scripture is placed here in the Word of God to make a ‘God statement’. The LORD wants all to know you should never sell God, His Power, His Anointing!
Really, how hard is it for men to understand that God is not for sale, but He offers Himself and all He is……. Free.
And another thing mentioned in The Word of God… was when Jesus went down to the Temple and drove out the money changers and the merchandising in the entrance to the temple. [They were selling sacrifice animals etc for the worship of God.]
The LORD was angry and said, “How dare you make My Father’s House something more than it should be…. a House of Prayer.”
“Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.
But Peter said unto him, “Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity,” “Acts 3:14-23.
For those who speak of believing the Bible to be the inspired Words of God.
The above passage must be believed and should be understood, to prevent the selling of God’s Power [Anointing].
Yet today we have many who are daily in the market to sell God’s Power and Words.
The fact is, The Word of God is breathed by The Holy Spirit and it will accomplish the purpose for which it was sent.
The Word declares that The Gospel message is the Power of God unto Salvation.
How then can anyone justify selling God?
Added Scripture: Matthew 21:12-13 KJV.
“And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money-changers, and the seats of them that sold doves, and said unto them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.'”“
