Settled On Their Lees
It’s amazing just how much God will reveal to you in His Word.
There’s no longer any doubt, that we often, throughout many years, read over things that were hidden there all the time.
To those who have studied much to show themselves approved unto God, it has been discovered.
A long time ago, you found that He actually has hidden things among His Holy writings; dated for a reason.
We’re not going to get the deeper things of God with such a shallow approach. We know His word is sacred and that it is alive.
There are places in Him that are so far beyond what most of us have even sought to perceive; although it has been there for all believers.
All the time. It makes sense to consider the following thought. Why would so great a God, choose to share His precious and mighty works and intent, with those who are not even interested; or only vaguely so?
God has had a people since time as we know it began. We have those who love to cite that God is love; and He is.
Did He not say, that there was nothing He would not do for those who love Him?
Oh how He has blessed his people; giving them all they ever needed and so much more.
The only thing He asked in return, is that they love Him most, with all their hearts and minds.
But that isn’t what He’s always gotten back.
How many times have God’s people turned from Him? No matter how great the blessing or deliverance….. they turned!
The LORD spoke to his prophets back in time, just as He does to His called ones of our time.
It’s a truly fleshly output to say that our God would not be angry about some of the things we see about us today.
Is it a lack of understanding, to think that He would not be disturbed about what He sees in the works of those even now who claim to be His People; especially in we who are called by the name of His Son Jesus Christ.
Just what have we done, with all that Power that was given to us?

That seems like a humorous comment, but it was not meant so in this text.
These were God’s people, that had “gone away backward.” Although they once did so, they had turned back from the LORD; from seeking Him first and following His Holy Spirit.
This prophet was told that even with all He had done for them, they no longer sought the LORD, nor inquired of Him.
“I have nourished and brought up these children, and they have rebelled against me.” He was truly provoked about it. Isn’t it possible to actually hurt God.
What happened among us with full apostolic renewal that was prophesied and proclaimed in so many of our meetings.
Did we not receive instruction from the Spirit, through tongues and interpretations and prophesies.
And through word of wisdom and word of knowledge, spoken to one another. We claimed much of it already; and we did have much of it at the start.
Many are witnesses to that. But it’s that fullness of the thing that we yet lacked; the completion of the entire Acts.
Stagnant in spirit. Settling for less; accepting what is left over and being content with it. Being satisfied with the dregs; the sediment.
This is not being crude; it’s exactly what it meant. These people even said in their heart, the LORD is not looking; He doesn’t see it.
He will not do good, neither will He do evil. God does see. We will give account for what we have done with the Gifts and ministries He placed in the Church.
Jesus Christ returns soon for His full Body. He, won’t settle for less.
“And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The Lord will not do good, neither will he do evil,” Zephaniah 1:12 KJV.
“And it shall come to pass at that time
That I will search Jerusalem with lamps,
And punish the men
Who are settled in complacency,
Who say in their heart,
‘The Lord will not do good,
Nor will He do evil,’ ” Zephaniah 1:12 NKJV.
