Spirits of Seduction and Delusion in the Church — 3 Comments

  1. “…doesn’t get sanctified because we speak in tongues.”

    Hello sister,

Speaking in “unknown” tongues is NOT the sign of the Holy Spirit.
It can be a gift but NOT the sign because only prophecy (hearing from God), and speaking tongues in an understandable language which glorify God is THE sign from the Holy spirit.
Every time they spoke in tongues there where people who heard understood what was spoken! (Acts 2:6,11, 10:46, 19:6 1 Corinthians 14:9)

The reason Paul talks about the differences between the tongues is that also the occult (disobedient) spirits can do it through a person but it will not glorify God and therefore an not interpreted ‘tongue’ must be quiet in the congregations!  (1 Corinthians 14:27-28).

To believe/have faith is the same as to be obedient; The tongues are NOT “a sign” to the obedient but to the disobedient.
ONLY speaking with prophecy is for the obedient (who is lead by the Holy Spirit).

“THE TONGUES ARE for A SIGN NOT TO THE BELIEVING, but to the unbelieving; and the prophesy is not for the unbelieving, but for the believing,” 1 Corinthians 14:22.

The churches have totally misunderstood Mark 16:17 because THIS speaks of the sign of a renewed mind which in obedience to God’s Word has cast out the demons that until then occupied the own mind and AFTER that is done they will speak with a – from the Spirit- restrained tongue which only speaks in agreement with God’s Will!
The Greek word confirms that the “new” tongue is about a moral, godly understandable speech.
Therefore also the verse speaks in that chronological order which is THE TRUE SIGN of that the Holy spirit is working in the person:
    1. cast out demons from the own mind.
    2. speak with a new fully, but different from before the mind was renewed and restrained of the Spirit, understandable tongue that speaks ONLY according to the revealed Word of God.

“And signs shall accompany those believing these things; in my name demons they shall cast out; with new tongues they shall speak,” Mark 16:17.

I started to meditate on these things because of that I met so many ‘believers’ that spoke in tongues but I never saw the fruit of the Spirit.

IF the speaking in (unknown) tongues had been “a sign” than also the fruit of the Spirit (Gal.5:22) should have been seen.

“He said to them, hear AND understand,” Matthew 15:10.

    • I’ll leave some things to ponder: Paul mentioned three modes of tongues men, Angels and one that is a language between us and God for which we may pray for interpretation.
I believe the author was simply conveying the need for discernment to determine the Holy Spirit at work. within professing Christian churches and amongst professing Christian leaders, as it appears many in Christian circles are falling to the delusion everything in church or from a minister is from God.  When the reality is it could be the carnal mind or as you so aptly put it demons.

“the reality is it could be the carnal mind or as you so aptly put it demons.”

Paul makes a clear definition between God’s Spirit who always comes with divine understanding for the reason to edify the Body of Christ and between “my” spirit who is NOT holy and therefore of course can not do this.
An “unknown” (from an unknown source) speech must therefore be interpreted.

“he who is speaking in an “unknown” tongue, (no other than) himself doth edify” 1 Corinthians 14:4

“if I know not the meaning of the voice…he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me,” 1cor.14:11

“if I pray in an unknown tongue, “my” spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful,” 1Corint 14:14

“I will pray with the spirit, AND I will pray with the understanding also,” 1cOR.14:15

“in the understanding become ye perfect,” 1Cor.14:20

        God’s true holy congregations are ment to speak understandable divine revelations. No empty chats;
“when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue (which) hath a revelation (which) hath an interpretation. LET ALL THINGS BE DONE TO EDIFYING,” 1Cor.14:26

Anyway, the main point is this that many false doctrines are built on that Mark. 16:17 says that ‘speaking in tounges’ is THE sign and confirmation of the Holy spirit, but it is not which Cor.14 also confirms.

The verse says nothing about the Holy Spirit, it only says that these kind of signs shall be seen in the beleiver and
as I wrote in the previous post, the greek words confirms that this ‘new’ tounge is an understandable speech coming as a result of a mind that continually is renewed (in the way of thinking 2Cor.10:5) by the cleansing in the Word of God.

“And these signs shall follow them that believe (through obedience to the Law of the Spirit of Life )in My Name shall they (from their own minds) cast out devils they shall (after their minds are cleansed in My Word) speak with new tongues Mark 16:17

        Strong’s Greek Number 2537:
        new
        kainos – kahee-nos’
of uncertain affinity; new (especially in freshness; while 3501 is properly so with respect to age: —new

        Strong’s Greek Number 3501:
        neos – neh’-os
including the comparative neoteros neh-o’-ter-os; a primary word; “new”, i.e. (of persons) youthful, or (of things) fresh; figuratively, regenerate: —new, young.

        Regenerate:
-reformed or reborn, especially in a spiritual or moral sense.
