Stop This Nonsense: Jesus Did Not Die to End Your Poverty!
The ignorance paraded in many pulpits today is sickening.
Some preachers have become nothing more than spiritual con artists, twisting The Cross into a get-rich-quick scheme.
And the gullible masses eat it up, because it tickles their itching ears.
Jesus did not die on The Cross so you could escape poverty — He died to save you from SIN!
If Jesus’ death was about financial prosperity, then explain this:
Why did His apostles—those who carried His message firsthand — suffer hunger, imprisonment, and persecution?
Why did Paul, the man who wrote most of the New Testament, testify that he knew both abundance and lack (Philippians 4:12) and that he often went without basic needs (2 Corinthians 11:27)?
Why did Jesus Himself say, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head” (Matthew 8:20)?
Was He poor because He lacked faith?
Was Paul financially struggling because he didn’t understand “kingdom prosperity”?
No! The Gospel was never about material wealth!
It was, and still is, about the redemption of mankind from the grip of sin and eternal death.
Jesus’ blood was not shed so you could drive a Mercedes or live in a mansion. He died to reconcile us to God, to free us from the power of sin, and to give us eternal life (Isaiah 53:5, Romans 5:8-10, Colossians 1:13-14).
But here we are, in an age where preachers have turned the message of The Cross into a Ponzi scheme, fleecing the desperate with promises of wealth in exchange for “seed sowing.”
They stand on platforms, misquoting 2 Corinthians 8: 9 — “Though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich” — as if it means financial riches, when the entire passage speaks of spiritual riches, not material gain!
Let’s set the record straight:
The true prosperity Jesus offers is Salvation, Righteousness, and Eternal life.
The real riches of The Gospel are not cars, cash, or real estate but Peace with God, Victory over sin, and the Hope of resurrection.
The inheritance we receive in Christ is not a fat bank account but an eternal kingdom (1 Peter 1:3-4).
Enough of this charlatan Christianity that reduces the cross to a business venture!
If your faith is centered on money rather than Christ, then your god is Mammon, not Jesus.
Repent! Preach the true Gospel. Stop misleading people!

Thank you for this true word – the gospel many times preached these days has veered off in some many ungodly directions causing people to fall off the path – may this word go far and wide and bring people back onto the straight and narrow that leads to eternal life. May the Lord bless and keep you and your family.
