The LORD is Giving You Direction
Today as I ate my lunch in the cafeteria, while sitting at the table, four fellow workers in the shop were standing around the pool table, while one was leaning over, holding his cue stick, contemplating the shot he was about to take.
He scrubbed his shot, sending the cue-ball over the edge and bouncing across the hard floor.
Of course, laughter always follows the bouncing ball.
When I finished eating, I started getting up from the table, right behind one of the young players.
I reached for the back of his shoulders and gave him a gentle nudge from behind. Laughing, he said, “Hey!” I said, “I was just giving you a sense of direction.” We both laughed.
There is always a time where a sense of direction will take us by surprise
After Jesus rose from the dead, He was standing on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, where He had started a small fire and was cooking some fish.
His disciples had been told by The LORD that they were to meet Him there in Galilee.
Jesus said to Peter; “Peter. do you love Me”.
Peter replied, “Yes Lord, I do love you.”
Jesus said, “Feed My sheep.”
Again, Jesus asked him: “Peter, do you love Me?”
Peter said, “Yes Lord, I really do love You!”
Jesus asked him a third time, “Peter, do you love Me?”
Peter, becoming very upset that The LORD would ask him a third time; said “Yes Lord, I really do love you!”
Jesus said. “Feed My lambs!”
Jesus then showed Peter by what kind of death he was going to suffer.
Peter, in response said, while pointing to John, “And what shall this man do?”
Jesus replied, “If it is My Will that he remains until the time that I return, what is that to you? You follow Me!”
God’s Plan for your life is not contingent upon what anyone else may be called to do.
Your relationship with God has everything to do with your obedience to The LORD’s Voice.
For The Word of The LORD says,
“I send forth My Word, it will not be canceled out, or return to Me void, It will accomplish the very purpose for which I send it. Hearing The LORD’s Voice has everything to do with receiving the Word That is Sent.” Isaiah 55:11.
Jesus also said “My Word is Spirit, and the Spirit is life.” (John 6:63)
For the Voice of The LORD is powerful.
The Voice of The LORD is full of majesty.
The Holy Spirit who dwells in you will quicken within you the Word He speaks to you.
We are all called to serve Him and worship Him in Spirit and in truth.
Therefore, trust in The LORD with all of your heart, and do not lean upon your own understanding, but acknowledge Him in all you do and He will direct your path. (Proverbs 3:5-6).
