The sins of the father are prone to repeat themselves, but your job is to identify and break every curse and hidden agendas!
Last night I had a dream in which one of my daughters was locked up in prison. As I went to see her, I saw a man with whom I had committed adultery, but this man was dead, but I could tell in the dream he wanted me to comeback to him, but I was saved and I never looked back, because I knew I was married and I was happy with my husband!
Interpretation and Application
I believe The LORD is saying that many of us are locked up in bondage because of sins of the past, because of people who are being used by the enemy (familiar, close to you or once in a relationship with you, family members) to resurrect the sins of the past and other Generational Curses that must be identified and broken!
This dream was disturbing to me, because I had a relationship with these people and it seemed as though their job was to pull me into bondage with them, but I refused to break covenant relationship with my husband!
The LORD spoke to me tonight regarding this dream — to release it!
In the Old Testament, Exodus 34:7 says that God “visits the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and fourth generation.”
However, in Paul’s letter to the Galatians 3:13, “Christ-redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it was written: ‘Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.”
However, many Christians, like the Kings in the Old Testament, still somehow end up following the past sins of either the natural or the spiritual parents that they have committed, all because these sins have not been identified and broken off the lives of the people!
Take Hezekiah and his son Manasseh for example, who committed sin in the sight of God!
Hezekiah, all because of his foolish pride and selfishness, opened up His sons to going into exile and repeating his sins, all because he lacked both wisdom and good judgment!
You see, Manasseh at a young age took over the throne of his father Hezekiah, but because Hezekiah opened the door to a spirit of idolatry by allowing the King of Babylon to come into his house, praising the gods of silver, gold and all the treasures in his house.
I believe that God allowed these same identical spirits to trickle down to Hezekiah through his family tree!
Instead of Hezekiah identifying this Babylonian spirit and rebuking it, he instead took it on, as being more valuable than the true and the living God, to whom he should have given both glory and praise to in the first place!
In this season, I believe God is saying that we, as the people of God, must be very careful what we allow into our space in this hour, such as those claiming to bring the Word of God, or strange prophetic words, or other gifts saying, “Thus Saith The LORD!” Those who come to appease our flesh and to cause us to move out of our God-given destiny in this season!
Because, the enemy comes as an angel of light in disguise, just as the King of Babylon did to Hezekiah and this open a door to the next generation to be cursed! All because Hezekiah failed to identify and to rebuke that which was not of God, but embraced the enemy of god instead!
You see, The LORD showed me that after Hezekiah died, his son took his place and reigned in his stead, and instead of him following the ways of God, he choose the ways of his father!
From God dealing with his father, Hezekiah, you would have thought the son would have learned from the past sins of the father. But instead, the son was worse than the father was!
For, the Bible says that Manasseh did that which was evil in the sight of The LORD, after the abominations of the heathen, whom The LORD cast out before the children of Israel, for he built up again the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal, and made a grove, as did Ahab king of Israel; and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.
He built altars in the House of The LORD, of which The LORD said, “In Jerusalem will I put my name,” and he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the House of The LORD .
He also made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards and wrought much wickedness in the sight of The LORD, to provoke Him to anger.
He also set a graven image of the grove that he had made in the house, of which The LORD said to David, and to Solomon his son, “In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever. Neither will I make the feet of Israel move any more out of the land which I gave their fathers; only if they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded them,” (2 Kings 21:2-8 KJV).
In this season, I believe that The LORD is saying that the Church must walk in a heavy discernment identifying the enemy; especially those who are close to us, such that they would cause the enemy to have access into our lives, that would open doors that are not of God!
I don’t care what your relationship is to others in your life, whether you’re sons, daughters and or your spiritual or natural parents, it is your job to always and foremost to obey God first!
The enemy has come up with many ways to tricks and to deceive God’s people and what better way than to use those who are close to us, or even those whom He will resurrect from the past, to take you down a road of utter destruction!
