Too Sick To Pray?
Do you wonder just why our LORD spoke about a body and how important it was?
Do we ever revisit the fact that He discussed each of its parts and how that one should not boast or brag over the others?
This physical body of ours, is so very intricate; nothing or no one has ever been able to replicate it. It is God’s creation. Modern technology may do amazing things, but its design doesn’t even come close to the human machine; no soul.
Would the body of Christ, be any less able? Was it meant that it should be flawed, to function far less than what He intended?
In the church here, in days gone by, we were fully aware that we needed each other. The idea that we were not all in this together, wasn’t in our thought realm. Of all people, Christ knew we were human. It was the purpose of the Father, that this manifestation of himself in the flesh, knew what that was like. But this human, had no flaws.
There is no “church,” without the Saints. If most of the responsibility of its affairs, shifted to only one or only a hand full of people, it was men who made such a change.
With all of our human faults and failures, God meant that we were to be perfected. Not perfect as human beings, but perfect in the Spirit and perfect in Christ. The plan that Christ had and has for His body, hasn’t changed. In spite of all of men’s interference, He still expects the same of us today.
What happens, when you have no strength left?
Perhaps you are depleted of all your physical energy or even your spiritual energy. If we cannot see today, that one of the main purposes of the body of Christ was to minister to one another, we must not know Jesus for ourselves.
Even back in the time of the troubling of the water, many people could not get into the water by themselves. We can express pride and self-sufficiency now if we choose, but there are many times when we cannot pray the prayer of faith on our own.
Contrary to some, we were never meant to walk this road all by ourselves. This twisted attitude that no one could be trusted to know our faults, is an indication of how Spirit-less we have become.
Does anyone recall, how every family that had members who were baptized in the Holy Ghost, had a bottle of olive oil in the cabinet? And we used it. We even took it with us when we were called to pray for someone sick or in need. Why did we do that? Who said.
Why should anyone lie helpless, because they do not have the strength to pray for themselves?
Yes, God can answer our prayer. No matter what condition we are in. Even our spirit can pray. It’s a good thing that God can hear our inner spirit.
There was a new commandment that was issued: “Love one another, as I have loved you.” Isn’t it possible, that the lack of truly loving each other in such a manner, is a clear indication of just how much we love Him?
Elders. Who are these people? It’s those who have come to a real maturity in the Spirit. They’ve allowed the Spirit to lead them and guide them, to grow up in Him. They’ve come through some of life’s experiences; they’re not easily moved away from what’s right.
And it’s also about just how much someone has sought after Him and how much they have allowed the Holy Ghost to reveal to them. It’s also about how much they’ve studied; how approved they are of God. These, can pray the prayer of faith, in times that we cannot.
