What Fellowship Can We Have With False Gospel Preachers? — 11 Comments

  1. “Every man’s work shall be made manifest, for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire (the Spirit), and the fire (Spirit) shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide (in obedience to the Father not doing anything, teaching anything without) hearing the (the voice of the Father) which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 1Cor.3:13-14

There is a teaching “out there” which only reads from the Bible and then perform “works” from their own understanding without seeking the Will of the Father. THAT is the lawless works which is not founded on Christ because if your is founded on Christ then you will continually seek the Will of the Father and ONLY do the works He say you shall do.

“But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Rom 10:16-17

When Paul says that faith comes by hearing he does not mean that you shall hear someone who laudly repeat what they read in the Bible, but that “hearing” that comes from hearing the audiable voice of the Father and then obey Him.
This is also the same as Abraham did he HEARD the voice of the Father and then obeyed and his works was therefore founded on the true faith.

  2. You people that claim James 2 says faith without works is dead need to read the whole book of James in context. First of all, James is speaking to already saved believers. He isn’t telling them that they need works to be saved or to prove they are saved, he is telling them that they need to do works now that they have been saved to earn some rewards and to be profitable to God and His Kingdom. Read the book in context and stop parroting what false preachers are saying.

No one is saying Sanctification, Obedience, perseverance and surrendering to Jesus are unimportant. They are important. They are just NOT a requirement of Salvation.

To be saved, you must be humble enough to admit that because you are a sinner and fall short of God’s standard, there is nothing you could do on your own to earn salvation. Salvation is a free gift of God, paid in full by Christ’s death on the cross.

Believing on Jesus – meaning believing that he is the ONLY reason why you are justified – is what gets you to heaven. People call that “easy believism” and scoff at those who think that. But really, it takes humility to accept that there is nothing in your power to be saved. And that is why most people reject the simplicity of the Gospel.

But if you say that you need to persevere, do good, turn away from sin etc. in order to be saved, that is works-based salvation. And if you want to follow that path, then you will be judged according to your works. And no one can live up to the standard of the law.

    • Continuation:

“Grace” is grace because you don’t deserve it. Period.

Just a quick note – when the Bible uses the word “repent” in the context of salvation, it means a ‘change of mind’. Every other religion says you need to be good to be saved (or get to nirvana or attain a higher caste etc). Only the Bible teaches Grace. To believe in Jesus IS repentance from your pride – thinking that you are a good person – to understanding that you need God and God alone to be made worthy.

Obedience to Jesus comes as a requirement of fellowship. Perseverance, is a requirement of fellowship. So yes, turn away from sin by all means. But that is what you do because you choose to obey God and follow His commandments – not to get saved or to prove you’re saved etc.

Also, another misunderstanding is the word “fruit”. Because people assume that it only means “works” as evidence. However, “fruit” is also used to mean doctrine. And that is how you spot false teachers – if they are teaching the wrong doctrine, it means they are not bearing fruit.

Desert Prophet Ken Dewey is 100% correct in his teachings. God bless you sir.

      • For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.  For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. – Romans 4:3-4

        Titus 3:5

        5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

      • “Every other religion says you need to be good to be saved (or get to nirvana or attain a higher caste etc). Only the Bible teaches Grace. To believe in Jesus IS repentance from your pride”

Yes, no other religion says that you MUST hear the voice of the Father, this is what makes true Christianity not a “religion”.

  3. To me, greasy grace is when grace alone is preached, without a true repentant heart. A repentant heart produces works as seen in James (NKJV)
James 2:14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?
2:15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food,
2:16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?
2:17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
2:18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
2:19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe and tremble
2:20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?
2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?
2:22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?
2:23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God.
2:24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.

AMÉN FAITH WITH OBEDIENCE TO ^^^HIS^^^ CREATED KINGDOM. SELAH FROM HEAVEN’S

    • “To me, greasy grace is when grace alone is preached, without a true repentant heart. A repentant heart produces works as seen in James (NKJV)”

      Amen!

The works it produces is the works spoke of in James 2:21 because it was not Abraham that came up with the idea that he should offer Isac for the reason to make “godly work” but he did it only in obedience to the audiable commandment from the Lord. That is the faith (read faithfullness to obey what you hear the Lord say) that produces the righteous and spiritually lawful works.

“I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ (that says you cannot do anything if not the Father first has showed you what to do”

Yes, I marvel at this myself.

    • Mark,
True salvation is NOT: Grace + Works = Acceptance with God

True Salvation is: Grace through Faith = Acceptance with God.

TRUE SALVATION IS NOT BY WORKS.  God said so in the Scripture: EPHESIANS 2:8-10

NOTE: True Salvation is A GIFT.  God gave His Gift – HIS SON JESUS CHRIST

OBSERVATION: If a man can WORK TO BE ACCEPTED WITH GOD then how can it yet be a GIFT?  If you can WORK to GET.. then it ceases to be a gift, but becomes……. WAGES. [GOD WOULD THEN HAVE TO GIVE MAN SALVATION BECAUSE HE WORKED AND EARNED IT].

Men work all the time go GET THINGS.  One cannot WORK TO GET ACCEPTANCE WITH GOD.  But, man MUST SIMPLY RECEIVE GOD’S GIFT.  HIS SON.  Jesus IS SALVATION because IN JESUS ALL SINS HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN.  That is right… DID NOT JESUS DIE FOR “SIN” the thing that MAKES MEN UNACCEPTABLE WITH A HOLY GOD?

WHAT MAN CAN YET WORK HOLY WORKS WORTHY TO BE ACCEPTED BY GOD? FOLLOW THEN FAITH THAT RECEIVES GRACE [GOD’S GIFT] and then you will find WORKS.  For OUT OF FAITH God does CREATE A MAN WHO HAS NO WORKS WORTHY to be A MAN WHO CAN NOW WORK.

WORKS ALWAYS FOLLOW FAITH.  It is a mistake to put WORKS before FAITH.

Now read it clearly in EPHESIANS 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

NOTE: MAN MUST BE “CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS” unto GOOD WORKS… [or gain the ability to do good works].

God proves the quality of his Grace when man is CREATED NEW. ONLY THEN CAN MAN WORK.

      • Absolutely! All I said was if one claims grace without a repentant heart, you are not truly saved.  For if your faith doesn’t produce works after God’s own heart, then you really don’t believe. Jesus said, if you love me, obey my commandments.  I’m not arguing grace with you.  All I did was quote the word.
