“For this reason it says, “Awake, sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you,”” Ephesians 5:14.
There is a fictional story, “A Sleeper Awakes,” by the great science writer H.G. Wells, that tells about a man that had fallen asleep for over 200 years and he awakens in London to find out the world has changed greatly. He discovers that he is now the richest man in the world.
Graham who is an Englishman living in London, takes drugs to cure his insomnia and then awakens 203 years later and finds out that his money has been put in a trust by the White Council to form a vast political and huge empire.
He awakens to find a mob demanding answers from him and he is put in house arrest only to be helped later on to escape.
There are rebels who are led by a man called Ostrog who want Graham to lead them against the powerful White Council. The rebels win, but Graham only becomes a puppet master to the superior Ostrog.
Graham disguises himself and visits the factories in the city and discovers the horrid conditions and how family life has now vanished.
Lives are dominated by “babble machines” which spread news and pleasure cities where unspecified joys are available to the masses.
Euthanasia is considered normal to rid the world of those who do not contribute.
The story while being fictional, documents a world where propaganda dominates the world and how lies cloud the vision of the masses.
But we can awaken and see how many have become drones in a world dominated by the elite and ruling class.
We are told to “Awake, sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”
The vision of many I believe, has caused them to fall into slumber.
It is a slumber that has caused many to fall into a deep sleep, unaware of the demise that is happening all around them.
Stories spread from types of babble machines that infuse lies and conspiracies that some would want us to believe.
But if one could see through the mist, they would behold a light that permeates the darkness.
It comes from the light that the darkness has never understood. But many will stay in their slumber thinking that all is now well.
But I would say, ‘Oh sleeper, awake!’
