Where is the Wise Man of This Hour — Have I Not Chosen the Despised Things of This World?
“Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?” 1 Corinthians 1:20.
“For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: but God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; and base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: that no flesh should glory in his presence,” 1 Corinthians 1:26-29.
“For as many were called by My Spirit, as such these have been called the sons and daughters of the Most High.
For not many of you came from noble birth. Not many of you came from places of prestige, and yet I have chosen the despised things; I have called out those who were not known by the world’s standards.
For truly, there are some vessels for noble use. For I have said in My Word that I will bring you before kings; and truly on that day I will give you the Words that you are to speak.
For where is the wise man of this hour? Where is the debater of this age? But I have given to my own a wisdom that far exceeds anything that the world can produce in you.
For this wisdom has been hidden for ages, for if they would have known who I was they would not have put Me to death. And yet it was for my Father’s purposes that I was to be put to death. For without the act of my death for you then I would not have risen for you.
But truly, in the days and years ahead I will give you a wisdom that far exceeds anything you could imagine. For you will shine like the stars in the heavens.
And you will see into those things of my Spirit that speak of that which is to come. For these are the days that I have warned you about. These are the days when you will be thrown out of the synagogues for speaking the truth in Me.”
