Wrong Covenants and an Orphan Spirit
God is speaking about cutting ties with unholy people and things, and cutting ties with the orphan spirit.
When God severs a covenant between wrong alliances and us, it feels like a cutting of a piece of our body.
Then healing begins, and the pain fades as we become stronger than before.
Wrong covenants hinder our growth like thorns surrounding a rose.
May we be willing to walk alone if necessary, but hand in hand with the God of mercy, love, and grace.
Israel must undergo a cutting and a repenting of wrong alliances. God wants to heal Israel’s orphan spirit.
It feels like she has no one to align with, but in fact, she has One more powerful than all the nations combined — Jehovah, El Shaddai, El Hohim.
Israel wanted a king to be like all other nations. when they had already and always been ruled by the prophets of The LORD. (1 Samuel 8)
This wish was granted, and the prophet Samuel was grieved. He had been raised in the Presence of The LORD.
He had slept by The Ark of The Covenant. He was Israel’s Voice of God, after many years, where their light had gone dim.
But with King Saul now ruling over them, Israel felt they had a real king. However, Saul chose to do things his way, which is in the nature of man.
Then God chose David to be the next king. However, David also sinned, but he always repented, and he had a true heart for God and Israel was brought back into alignment with God.
Then came his son Solomon, born out of an adulterous affair with a woman whose husband David killed.
Out of Solomon’s lineage came Jesus.
God forgave and redeemed the sins of the ones who fell, but who didn’t give up on Jehovah.
Now Israel has a warrior Prime Minister, who fights for Israel, but who doesn’t acknowledge Jesus as the Messiah, who came 2000 years ago.
So, inside the hearts of many Jews is an orphan spirit.
They long for the coming of the promised Messiah; as they rejected the Son of God, who already came.
When Israel finally opens their eyes and hearts to receive the truth of Jesus Christ as the Son of God, it will no longer cry at a crumbled wall of an old Temple, but they will rejoice in the knowledge that they are not orphans, but the Children of God, with Jesus, as The Firstborn, among many sons of God.
May God stir their hearts in this time of need, as earthly Covenants are broken, and their Covenant is with God alone.
He will fill the void and ache in the hearts of all who receive Him, Jew and Gentile alike, for He died for all of mankind.
May The Holy Spirit call out to us, and may we reply, Abba, Father, in response!
Blessings,
