The Camels are Coming! — 6 Comments

  1. “The Lord works in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform.” Contrary to popular belief, that’s not a bible verse, but a line in a 17th Century hymn.

Desmond Tutu said of God, “He is a God of surprises”.

Although neither of the above are bible quotes, they are truths that time and again are demonstrated in God’s Word.

Whenever God does something in our life, we can usually find a biblical precedent, thus confirming the consistency of His character.  Even so, the Christian life is full of surprises, owing to His superior ways:

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.”  (Isaiah 55:8-9)

As believers, `May we learn to live joyfully, with thanks and trust, even when our lives (think Covid-19) seem to be out of control.

Expect the unexpected from the God who loves us.

    • Gerry, He is a good God of wonder and surprises, isn’t He? His thoughts are far above what we think and He invites us to go higher to see the plans He has for us and to declare them into being. Bless you!
