Do not become bitter and resentful with others because they are giving birth and your babies (seeds spilled) are not being birthed!
Come on somebody! The LORD has His own timing and His own calendar for the birthing process! And, many like Sarah have lost their faith in God and instead of them waiting on God’s timing, they are moving in their own timing trying to make things come to pass!
I can remember when I was pregnant. I wanted my baby to come on the due date but that didn’t happen along with many others who were pregnant during the same time.
I was induced in labor, just to give birth, but I had to wait it out! Sarah was the same way. She did not trust God for the process, so she went to her servant Hagar for help to make her promise come by her own natural abilities!
You see, Hagar was the servant of Sarah. God had promised Abraham many descendants, but, ten years after the promise, Sarah was still unable to have children, and they were both on the verge of becoming too old to have children at all.
So, to speed things up a bit, Sarah chose to give her servant Hagar to Abraham, in accordance with the custom of that day, so that Sarah could have a child through her (Genesis 16:2).
As you can see, this brought about much strife, hatred, resentment and the root of bitterness, all because Sarah refused to trust God for both the promise and the process!
The LORD wants His people to know that whenever they walk after the flesh they end up fulfilling the lust of the flesh and whatever is not done by faith, is sin!
You are the seed of Abraham, Issac and of Jacob all which are the seeds of faith and the promise!
God does not want His people to walk in self and when we do we endanger the promises and the destiny God has for us!
Remember, satan’s job is to abort the promises (baby) god has planned for you and he does this through the spirit of unbelief, doubt and in-patience like he did with Sarah!
For, I hear God saying that God is not slack in his promises toward us! The LORD is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
You see, Hagar conceived, and Sarah despised her. Not because Hagar had done anything wrong to deserve her wrath, but because Sarah lacked the faith to trust and to believe god for the promise!
Many will become bitter and resentful like Sarah, all because they don’t understand the timing and the plan of God and instead of getting the counsel of god they are walking in flesh, but God’s promises all come with conditions and require a process!
All of which Sarah was not willing to wait on! So she turned to Hagar for help giving her to her husband to conceive in her place!
Sarah began to deal harshly with her, and Hagar fled to the desert to escape the resentment of her mistress. The angel of the LORD met Hagar in the wilderness, (God revenged Hagar and brought justice in the midst of chaos) commanding her to return to Abraham and Sarah.
The angel relayed a promise from God: “I will surely multiply your offspring so that they cannot be numbered for multitude” (Genesis 16:10).
Sarah tried to abort what god had already put in motion but it was too late because all of Abraham’s seeds was promised to be blessed and god could not go back on his words in spite of how Sarah felt about (Hagar and her child) it she had to endure the consequences of her desire to move ahead of God and his timing!
How many of you are suffering because you got out of God’s timing and like Sarah it has caused broken relationships (friction) and bad blood because you refused to wait on God to fulfill His promises in your life?
Abraham sent Hagar and Ishmael away (to keep peace in his own home) after Isaac was weaned according to God’s command. At that time, God repeated His promise that Ishmael would father a great nation.
(You see just because you bitter and mad at someone because it seems like your baby (promises) is not coming does not mean that god is going to take away that other person blessings just because of your poor judgment and lack of faith.)
Hagar was in the desert and near death when the angel of God called to her, saying, “What troubles you, Hagar? Fear not, for God has heard the voice of the boy where he is. Up! Lift up the boy, and hold him fast with your hand, for I will make him into a great nation” (Genesis 21:17-18).
Tell somebody, I do not care how you might try to cast me out, my blessings are sure and they have already been spoken and none of my babies will die, because of your poor judgment in managing your own house!
