It is a Spirit!
We were admonished to watch. And we were never told to stop. The watchman, was never informed that they were no longer needed.
Many times, Christ encouraged us to keep looking; not to be caught off guard. It seemed to always make me uncomfortable, when He said, that He would come like a thief in the night. He is not a thief, and He never was. Most often, a thief comes when no one is watching; when we might be preoccupied with other things. No one knows the hour; but signs were given.
This unrestricted self-centeredness, has increased at an alarming rate; just in the past two or three years. It’s rampant today, and it grows by the hour.
In such a short time, people have become so very aggressive; one writer used the word “fierce.” Too many, are after what they want, and they do not care what they have to do to get it. The drive to be ahead of everyone else is critical; the urge for power and control over others is exhaustive. You see it in the supermarket, at the post office; it’s actually touching everything.
“Wherein time past, ye walked according to the course of the world,” Ephesians 2:2. That’s what they did before they were newborn; like so many of us did also.
We know what the world is; and we know what the way of the world is also; how it operates today. Let’s again stand against those who rant about the dooms day prophet, and that we should not entertain any negative thoughts. It should be said, that not being prepared before a storm, is what’s negative.
Not paying attention, has already cost us more than we even know.
The way people drive their vehicles, is terribly disturbing; and it is getting worse. There is no care for the lives of other people. But there is something else different; they have no care for their own lives. This idea of taking myself out has been around a long time; however, it’s now that I want to take as many with me as I can. It’s known all over the world today, that people everywhere are almost enrapt of destroying others. Here we have turned on one another. So involved, that we can’t see around us; many, couldn’t care less.
I’ve been totally taken aback by some of these things. And I also have found myself asking, what is this? This is all insane. How can people do the things they’re doing; rushing madly forward with no regard for consequences and no real self-control? Churching for money and entertainment; the lost sheep, can rescue themselves….
And then an answer was given to me. The writer of the scriptures, continued with this: “According to the prince of the power of the air,” Ephesians 2:3. With a host of evil angelic helpers behind him to help him.
It is “the spirit,” that now worketh in the children of disobedience.
It is possible, that many do not even know what is causing them to do these things. Those who do not have the Holy Spirit to help them, have no constraint; a total giving over, to the works of the flesh. And many who are supposed to have Him, have allowed themselves to be distracted, by the course of this world. Not even looking with their natural eyes, much less with eyes of the Spirit.
Unless the body of Christ, gets their minds, hearts and souls, back on following the leading of the Holy Ghost, we are going to be overrun.
It’s an unwanted and unfavorable message, that God is going to allow some things to transpire. Much of our armor is in disrepair; we too often fail to pray in the Spirit and many of the watchmen, are playing games.
This is spirit, against spirit. Evil men, will wax worse and worse. Have we once more become ignorant, of this spirit’s devices. Only the Holy Spirit, can win this.
“And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others,” Ephesians 2:1-3 emphasis added.
