Never Blow Our Own Trumpets!
Today I will be presenting Part 4 out of 5 of a recent series to encourage our faith.
Good morning.
To those who have followed, each segment is less than 15 minutes long.
Again, I am only trying to bring out some main thoughts and scriptures here by Bro. Ray Witherington.
We need to set time aside for God to get alone with Him. Also get alone from everybody at times.
As we fast and pray don’t go tell everyone. We will lose our blessings if we do!
That is flesh and blowing our own trumpet. We don’t need to announce how spiritual we are.
Remember the Scriptures
“And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.” Matthew 6:5
We might not always see the results right then. Sometimes later on down the road we may see how God moved.
We must build up our most Holy Faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.
“But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.” Jude 1:20
“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” Romans 8:26-27
When we read others books or materials, just make sure the Bible backs up what they are teaching.
God always honors His Word.
“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11
We must remember that we are in a battle.
We will make it through!
“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;” Ephesians 6:18
God bless you all.

Amen Joyce! As we’ve discussed, we’re saying many of the same things. And matter of fact, in my sermon this morning, I talked on spending time with The Lord and how vital it is. As you’re saying, that is exactly what we need to do. God bless you!
