Most of us go through life not recognizing that our ‘personal world views’ have been deeply affected by the world.
Through the media and other influences, the secularized American view of history, law, politics, science, God and man, affects our thinking more than we truly realize.
We are then ‘taken captive’ through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ, (Colossians 2:8).
My friends…. You are not free when you conform…. to all of your angry or your passive friends!
➡️ That is not freedom! That is just rebellion in a new conformity! ⬅️ ( Please ponder on that thought! )
Can you answer this?
➡️ What does taking real action to build the life and the world you want look like? ⬅️
It’s one of the surest ways to actually separate yourself from your peers.
It’s the mark of a mature man or woman, after all, to actually create something rather than to simply consume, imitate, parrot, stay stuck and follow the crowd and complain.
We will have to know what we believe and then hold to it strongly. It’s often been said,
“Those who stand for nothing — will fall for anything….”
We are given the teachings of the apostles and prophets so that we may,
“…no longer be children, tossed here and there by waves, and carried about by every wind of doctrine,” Ephesians 4:14.
We must read and S T U D Y our Bibles, bowing in humility, and… accept the principles we find there as our standard of conduct!
And then, stand firmly on our scriptural convictions! How rare it is to see that today!
“Most of us are so caught up in feelings and tradition and causes, that we do not allow truth to shine through. But oh my does the chip on the shoulder of our souls ever show!” — John Piper.
If we don’t really believe the truth of God and live it, then our witness will be confusing and misleading.
But! Faithful learning, applying and trusting God’s truths in every area of our lives — whether it’s watching a movie, communicating with our spouses, raising our children or working a job — we can begin to develop a deep and healing faith that will stand against the unrelenting tsunami of our culture’s non-biblical ideas.
If we open our hearts to embrace more of God’s world view and trust it with unwavering faith, then we begin to make the right decisions and form the appropriate (mature) responses to questions on abortion, politics, racism, stem-cell research and even media choices.
Because in the end…
…it is our decisions and actions that reveal what we really believe.
“But the words you speak come from the heart–that’s what contaminates you and causes the loss of purity,” Matthew 15:18.
Ever Learning, Growing and Searching Out the Will of God…..
