Possessing your Promised Land
~ Looking Beyond the Giants ~
There is a story In the book of Numbers where the Lord told Moses to send out twelve men, one from each of the twelve tribes of Israel to spy out the land of Canaan, which was also called “The Promised Land.” Only Joshua and Caleb came back with a good report but the ten others came back with a bad report because they were looking at the giants in the land. The Lord wants to bring us into our promised land but many of you have a fear of entering this place because in the natural, you are looking at the reality of the giants which are before you.
The Lord says,
“You are standing on the brink of your promised land. Pursue your journey with boldness. Just as I have performed miracles with a cloud by day and a fire by night for My people of old, I will also make provision for you and surround you with My protection. My Glory will go before you in all that I have called you to do, and every place that I have ordained for you to go. I will provide you with manna from heaven, revelation of My word and reveal My hidden mysteries. Just as I supernaturally sustained My people in the wilderness for forty years, I will also sustain you. Do not murmur and complain as the Israelite’s did, but know that I am well able to bring you in. Trust Me to part the Red Sea that is before you, just as I parted the Red Sea for My people and drowned their enemies as they tried to pursue them. You will no longer be a slave to Pharoah but you will be positioned above your taskmasters.
Do not see yourself as a grasshopper in comparison to the giants that are coming against you, but know that you are well able to overcome every obstacle that is set before you. Give no place to fear and intimidation, but continue in confidence that I will fulfill My word that I have promised to you. The giants may appear to be immense in the natural, but reconsider that which I have given to you is so much greater. I will bring confusion among your enemies just as I have sent hornets to drive out their enemies. I am looking for those who will be as bold as Joshua and Caleb. They didn’t deny that there were giants in the land, but they knew that they were well able to overcome them. In the same way, I am calling you to go up and take possession of My promises. I am looking for those who will stand up and say, let us go up at once and possess the Land, and as you do, I will surely bring you into a land that is flowing with milk and honey. I am looking for those who have a different spirit and I will bring you out, to bring you in to all that I have purposed for you to do.”
…says the Lord.
“And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it” Numbers 13:30.
“There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight” Numbers 13:33.
“They spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying: The land we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land. If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, a land which flows with milk and honey” Numbers 14:7-8.
“But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it” Numbers 14:24.
