Have you ever noticed that there is typically someone who is in charge and yet this person’s motives and character may well remain unchecked for some time because of their position in society?
However, we must know that someone else needs to watch this person to be sure that they are following the rules. But then who checks the person who is watching the original one?
And of course the scenario can go on and on forever in an endless circle. But in any business there are those in charge who of course must answer to even someone else who is higher up until the owner is the one who watches over all.
He or she is in a position of wealth and prestige and yet, if they aren’t watched, then they may well lose their business.
Actually God is the only true Watcher that we need to be concerned about. We are told that He watches over even the sparrows, and so if this is true, then how much more does He care about us?
In the book of Daniel we are told about the “watchers.”
“I saw in the visions of my head while on my bed, and there was a watcher (עִיר), a holy one, coming down from heaven,” Daniel 4:13.
The word for “watcher” is from the Aramaic, one of the few places in the Old Testament where Aramaic is used and not Hebrew.
The word for watcher is from the Aramaic (Chaldean) word עִיר “`iyr” and means “wakeful one, watcher,” or “angel” so clearly a watcher in an angel sent from God. The watcher or holy angel declares to Nebuchadnezzar,
“This decision is by the decree of the watchers (עִיר), and the sentence by the word of the holy ones, In order that the living may know. That the Most High rules in the kingdom of men. Gives it to whomever He will, And sets over it the lowest of men,” Daniel 4:17.
God has called His watchmen to be ever vigilant and aware in this hour, and yet not everyone who is called as a watchman is pure in their motives and actions.
Who will watch the watchers?

Stephen Hanson of In His Truth Ministries came to the LORD is a special way in 1975 and has prophesied regularly since. In these end-time birthing pangs we are reminded that judgment must first begin with the household of God. Will we be prepared and ready?
