WHAT CAN YOU….”DO”?

Many find themselves in a very hard place.  I have heard this place described as BETWEEN A ROCK AND A HARD PLACE.  Once I saw a painting of a cowboy who was in such a place.  He was looking straight at a mad grisly bear.  The cowboy had his back to a huge rock.  The bear was standing up on his hind feet and ready to plunge in and rip the man to little pieces.  What a place to be in for sure.  I would hate to be in any bad situation with a grisly bear, much less with my back up against a rock wall and NO PLACE TO RUN or no tree to climb.

Well many Christians are faced today with what looks like they have no choice.  There are many who are literally thinking of quitting or giving up.  I heard someone say the other day:  I am just praying to die, because things are in such a mess.  I remember the story of Elijah and how the woman Jezebel did frighten him so bad, that he ran to the desert and cried out to God asking him to just let him die.  The Lord was so touched by his cry that he told Elijah that he would soon meet the man Elisha who would take his place.  In other words God granted Elijah’s prayer.  He eventually took up Elijah into a flaming chariot, but as he went he threw down his anointing upon Elisha in a DOUBLE PORTION.

Elijah and already fought a very good fight, he had won by calling fire down from heaven and he then killed 400 Baal Prophets.  THAT WAS A GREAT VICTORY!   Well the very brave and full of faith Elijah, was suddenly turned to a bowl of jello, and he shook in his shoes at the scorn and awful words of Jezebel.  There is nothing quite as discomforting than a woman’s scorn!  She put fear into Elijah to the place for a moment he forgot about his God who could deliver him.

***Now someone reading this word is in a terrible shape.  You have even entertained that there is no way out.  Let me say something now to you that will help…..

MOSES FOUND HIMSELF IN A HARD PLACE.  He had his back up to the Red Sea and coming upon him was the Egyptian Army.  He had just been successful at leading the people out of Egypt, but now he was facing his Jezebel.

WHAT DID HE DO?

THE ANSWER:  Moses lifted up his ROD and struck the water of the Red Sea.  When he did the waters parted and behold there appeared a dry land pathway through the Sea.  So what is the answer for you?  TAKE UP THE ROD OF GOD.  Well someone says where do I get such a Rod?

The fact is friend, YOU HAVE ONE.  The Rod of God is HIS AUTHORITY AND POWER.

God has given each of his people HIS AUTHORITY AND POWER.  He says we all have been lifted up far above all principality and power in both heaven and Earth.  We have been SENT and with the Sending we have been INVESTED WITH HIS AUTHORITY TO WORK.  It is not our own ability that I speak about, but HIM.  HE IS THE POWER AND AUTHORITY.  The Scripture in John 14:13-14 that we have POWER IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST.  Now see it:

JOHN 14:”

10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.

12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.”

This verse simply says that He has given us the same power that Jesus Christ had.  He said even that WE COULD DO GREATER WORKS because He was gone to his Father.  He left behind his NAME OR HIS AUTHORITY AND POWER… and added…. IF YE SHALL ASK ANYTHING IN MY NAME, I WILL DO IT.

Well Friends, IS THAT NOT A ROD?  Yes.  It is a ROD OF AUTHORITY.

Your way out is JUST LIKE MOSES’ WAY OUT…. JUST STRIKE THE PROBLEM and watch it MOVE.  The objects in front of you cannot do anything else than move… BECAUSE JESUS CHRIST IS ABOVE ALL IN HEAVEN AND EARTH.  He has already destroyed all the works of the devil and has ALREADY WON THE VICTORY.  That Victory is OURS RIGHT NOW!

USE IT.  SPEAK HIS NAME AND STRIKE THE PROBLEM.

  2. 1 Corinthians 14:14-15 (NKJV)
14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. 15 What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding.
