What is a Jezebel Spirit?
Spiritual Food For Thought….
What is a Jezebel Spirit?
We find the story of Jezebel in 1 Kings chapters 18 through 20, and also in 2 Kings 9. She was married to king Ahab, who ruled during the time of the Prophets Elijah and Elisha.
To say the least, Jezebel was controlling, manipulative, a seducer, an adulteress, a murder of prophets, and a baby killer.
Her horrible death was prophesied, and she was pushed out of a window where she fell to her death and dogs ate her body.
Later in Revelation 2:20, Jesus Himself accuses the church of Thyatira of allowing Jezebel in. This of course is not talking about the actual person, who was long dead, but a “familiar spirit.” ( It’s pretty bad when you lived such a wicked life, that a demon is named after you!)
The people influenced by her spirit were doing or allowing the same actions that she produced; sexual immorality and offering food to idols.
Today, the spirit of Jezebel is prominent in many women, and feminism is one of its greatest gateways.
Jezebel ruled over and controlled Ahab; stripping him of his God-given ego and manhood. She laid with many men and birthed children outside of her marriage. She worshiped idols and offered children as a sacrifice to Molech/ Baal.
We find these similarities today with the “Independent Woman” movement, which is feminism, abortion, sexual immorality, women becoming provider and head of households, lesbianism, and single parenting by choice.
YHVH-God never intended for women to be in the state that we are in today. A woman is the most precious and a powerful creation.
Everything under YHVH and the Son is considered female (i.e. the earth, Israel, Judea, the church etc). YHVH chose the “woman” to bring forth life; even Christ was born of a woman.
But a woman was intended for companionship, a help-meet, the “voice of reason.” She is meant to be loved, and to love, to be covered, provided for, and treasured. In return, she gives the greatest gift; LIFE.
We are the Bride of Christ, and He treats and gives us His best. He gave is entire life for us. He covers us, loves us unconditionally, provides for us, protects us, communes and abides with us.
In return, as we go into the world preaching the Gospel, we birth forth ministry and new names written in the Book of Life; YHVH-God’s children.
Some people have stated that because Jezebel painted her nails and face and wore jewelry to beautify herself, taking part in such is a sin.
But this would contradict one of my favorite scriptures, which is Ezekiel 16; where YHVH-God himself compares Israel to the beauty of a woman and uses things like earrings, bangles, and necklaces to highlight her beauty.
Jezebel was cursed not because of what she did to beautify herself, but because of the iniquities of her heart and the actions it produced.
Postscript:
Yes, I am aware that Jezebel is a unisex spirit/ stronghold, but today I am addressing the women.
