You May Not Feel Qualified for Your Calling
Good morning.
As I started out to answer some prison letters this a.m. I found this video.
It made me cry and really touched my heart.
This man did hit bottom and The LORD saved him outside of prison. I love the way God is using him now.
Still many think you can’t minister effectively unless you have hit rock bottom yourself.
Some think a person has to go through something to identify, and then be able to counsel effectively.
While I do understand what they are trying to say, it is not always true!
JESUS never sinned but He was tempted in all points — but yet without sin.
He ministered as He went and was full of Grace and Compassion!
You may feel called to minister in a certain area, by a strong pull of compassion.
Chances are The LORD is leading you in that very area!
There are two requirements needed that I see:
- We need to first be born again by the precious blood of Jesus.
- Make sure you have clean hands and a pure heart.
You see when we ever come at anything with ulterior motives, it is then tainted.
It takes daily heart checks with true repentance of any of us claiming to be Christians.
To speak, counsel or advice anyone from a heart of love is always needed.
I may seem old now at 72, but I hopefully have learned a few things along the way.
Just go for that child hurting, homeless person, the one needing a friend in prison, etc.
Just try to never be preachy in the approach.
They have wounds so deep sometimes, we just don’t know.
If compassion is not pulling you, leave that area alone to someone else.
God can use anyone of us willing to sell out to Him to be a Christian.
Let’s be the real deal. Yet don’t compromise with the sin.
Moving on:- One thing that bothers me, is some never seem to get past being a recovering addict their whole lives.
Can we never say I AM FREE in Jesus Christ?
Can The LORD not break the chains that bind us?
Jesus came to seek and save that which was lost.
Just some food for thought today.
God bless you all.
“Who shall ascend into the hill of The LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.” Psalm 24:3-4.
“For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.” Hebrews 4:15.
“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke 19:10.
