The Heart of an Intercessor

An effective Intercessor needs the Heart of the Father.
We cry out to God, standing in the gap for loved ones, people and Nations, to intercede for whatever need The LORD lays on our heart.
Where there would be judgment, we cry out mercy, mercy, mercy.
We are standing there between God, people and Nations, praying, standing in the gap (the place between God and the sins, of people and Nations praying on their behalf.
Interceding for Nations and souls to be saved, can avert judgement.
We pray for what The LORD lays upon our heart as we wait before Him.
God alone gives you His heart for people. We grow in intercession and have never arrived.
Being an Intercessor is not a glorious position, but is much needed in The Body of Christ. It is one of those hidden ministries that often only Father sees.
One must keep confidences and share them with no one unless The LORD specifically leads you to do so and you are on call at all hours of the day and night.
When The LORD alerts you, you stop, have a listening ear and wait on The LORD as He lays a burden (need) upon your heart. You pray through till the burden lifts or God says stop!
Tears, weeping, humbling our hearts in repentance before God is part of intercession, as is praying in the Spirit with moans and groans that cannot be uttered. It is Holy Spirit praying through you.
Intercessors need to walk a repentant walk, being quick to repent.
Elijah bent over with his head between his knees in intercession, giving birth to the rain that had been absent for three years.
We are giving birth to answered prayer, lives spared, people healed and judgment being averted or delayed as much as possible.
Dry bones come to life, as we speak life to the dry bones. We speak life into situations.
Because of someone praying people lives are saved, disasters averted, and absolutely nothing can happen without someone praying.
Prayer and Intercession covers people and Nations.
Our repentance closes doors to the enemy.
When a Nation ceases to pray it opens the door to the enemy. It brings about spiritual wickedness in high places.
We find ourselves praying for the unlovely, the unlikable, and even the wicked to be transformed by The Power of God.
God‘s heart is a heart of love, but also a heart of holiness and without holiness, no man can see The LORD.
All I can do is weep this morning. Last night’s tornado and the devastation to lives brought me to weeping in the night and still tears are flowing this morning. It is the Father’s heart, not mine.
An Intercessor needs their criticisms turned into intercession to be an effective Intercessor. We need God‘s heart.
Jesus said, in Matthew 5,
“But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.” Matthew 5:43 NKJV.
It takes God‘s heart to do that!
The natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God for they are foolishness to him.
What is God saying to you?
What is He laying on your heart?
Are you listening?
Prayerfully we pray, for needs, at time to avert judgement wherever possible, and see the mercy of The LORD and the hand of God moved.
Prayer averted the judgement of Nineveh for 50 years before it finally happened.
Abraham stood in the gap for a Nation.
It did not advert judgment, but he did his part petitioning God and interceded and only then Lot and some of his family were rescued. Only then did judgment happen!
Some will laugh, others will criticize but allow the heart of God to turn your criticisms into intercession.
God is knocking at the door of your heart and saying, will you join with Me in intercession for I AM your Chief intercessor.
“Stop, humble yourself before Me and I will use your willing heart to intercede,” says The LORD, “You do make a difference, one often you will not see until you graduate to heaven.”
“if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV.
If we do our part, humbling ourselves, praying, seeking God‘s Face and turning from wicked ways, then God will always do His.
We will hear from heaven our sin will be forgiven and our land healed.
Our Nations healing is conditional to our repentance and God‘s mercy. That is why The LORD calls His People to pray and intercede on behalf of Nations.
The Father’s heart is one of forgiveness and mercy and only as a last resort does He ever judge a Nation. It is because of the hardness of man’s heart.
True Repentance is the answer for the hatred and wickedness in this world.
Jesus is the answer!
Jesus, death on the cross was Jesus taking our place that we might have life!
The LORD wants you and I to stand in the gap and cry out to Him, mercy, mercy, mercy, and perhaps we will find mercy in this late hour, as we call out with the heart of an Intercessor joining with God’s Heart and the heart of others.
The LORD will never go contrary to His Word.
I hear God say, “Turn your criticism into Intercession and Repent for your own sin, the sins of the people and Nations.”
The hours late, God is knocking at the door of men’s hearts, but we must let him in.
Nothing is impossible with God!
The LORD is calling on you, will you answer Him?
“Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.” Hebrews 7:25 NKJV.
“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” Romans 8:26 NKJV.
“So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.” Ezekiel 22:30 NKJV.
“So Ahab went up to eat and drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; then he bowed down on the ground, and put his face between his knees, and said to his servant, “Go up now, look toward the sea.” 1 Kings 18:42-43 NKJV.

Thank you for this reminder. I am guilty of not interceding for the tornado victims when I first saw the devastation. May God help us to always be in a mode of Intercession.
Blessings to you dear Patricia.
Hi Jennifer, Holy Spirit convicts and the enemy condemns.
I am not always led to pray for every tornado in that way, so we pray, but do not accept any condemnation of the devil. I myself am growing in intercession and have not arrived. None of us have, and I think we’ll always be growing in our intercession. It’s always good to hear from you, Jennifer.❤️
Thank you ✝️
Debbie,
Thank you for taking time to comment. It is much appreciated and I’m thankful it touched your heart. Blessings ❤️
