A Prayer for Intercessors
Heavenly Father, tonight I come not to perform, but to petition Your Throne on behalf of myself and Your intercessors those whom You have chosen and called to stand in the gap for the land, that You would not destroy it; those called to cry aloud and spare not, to weep between the Porch and the Altar, to make supplication, to travail, to watch, to warn, and to war in the Spirit.
I come only through The Blood of Jesus Christ, our access, our righteousness, and our plea.
Father, I ask tonight that You will heal us, Your Intercessors, that we may pray from purified hearts and not from polluted souls.
Wash us again. Purge us again. Search us and know us. Try us and know our thoughts.
If there be any wicked way in us, lead us back into the way everlasting.
Purify our motives, sanctify our emotions, and bring our inner man back under the government of Your Spirit.
Let us not pray from irritation, carnality, weariness, resentment, or reaction, but from communion, consecration, and brokenness before You.
Restore our souls, Abba in Yeshua’s Name.
- Where life has drained us, restore us.
- Where warfare has wearied us, restore us.
- Where grief has hollowed us out, restore us.
- Where disappointment has scattered our focus, restore us.
- Where long seasons of pressure have made our hearts heavy, restore us.
Bring back to us the freshness of Your Presence, the tenderness of heart, the sobriety of spirit, and the joy of being near You.
Realign us with Your Holy Spirit.
Revive us again.
Breathe upon every dry place in us until prayer flows again with life, purity, clarity, and fire.
Renew our minds and give us the mind of Christ.
- Let every warfare in the mind cease.
- Let every unprofitable mind chatter cease.
- Let every tormenting cycle, every anxious loop, every oppressive whisper, every cloud of confusion, and every internal noise that competes with Your voice be silenced in Jesus’ name.
Father, quiet what hell has amplified.
- Break the power of mental clutter.
- Break the tyranny of distraction.
- Break the pressure of overthinking.
- Break the fog of spiritual exhaustion.
Let there be a divine clearing in the inward man so we can hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church.
Set us back on our watch and upon our rampart.
- Reposition us in the Spirit.
- Re-establish us in prayer.
- Re-anchor us in the secret place.
Open our eyes to see, our ears to hear, and our hearts to understand what You are saying in this hour.
Do not let us become dull through fatigue, nor careless through sorrow, nor numb through repeated warfare.
- Awaken holy alertness again.
- Awaken discernment again.
- Awaken Holy burden again.
- Awaken pure seeing again.
Father, when situations threaten our peace, manifest Yourself as Peace Speaker, Jehovah Shalom.
- Speak to every storm that has arisen around us and within us.
- Speak to every wave that has threatened to overtake us.
- Speak to every report, every delay, every uncertainty, every grief, every pressure point, and every unseen battle that has pressed against our minds and emotions.
- Let Your peace stand guard over our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
- Let Your peace interrupt panic.
- Let Your peace overthrow torment.
- Let Your peace quiet what fear has stirred.
Help us not to become overwhelmed with the cares of life to the point of distraction.
- We refuse to be swallowed up by survival mode.
- We refuse to be so entangled in life’s burdens that we lose sight of Your face, Your voice, and Your burden.
Deliver us from Martha-like anxiety that leaves us troubled and cumbered, and bring us back to the one thing needful.
- Teach us to cast our cares upon You, because You care for us.
- Teach us to let go of weights that were never meant to sit upon our shoulders. Teach us what to carry and what to surrender.
Father, deliver our minds from disillusionment.
- Deliver us from despair.
- Deliver us from despondency.
- Deliver us from destitution of spirit.
- Deliver us from the internal erosion that comes from long battles, deferred hope, silent grief, repeated disappointment, and unanswered questions.
- Do not let us lose heart while doing Your will…
- Do not let our inward man collapse under the pressure of our outward battles.
- Do not let hopelessness take root where faith once stood.
- Deliver us out of Lo-Debar — out of barren places, forgotten places, dry places, neglected places, low places, places of shame, stagnation, and limitation.
- Deliver us also from death’s valley. Though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, let us fear no evil, for You are with us.
- Bring us up and out.
- Bring us into breadth.
- Bring us into open space.
- Bring us into the place of encounter, vision, purity, and fresh oil again.
Take us to Your mountains and high hills. Cause us to tread upon the high places of the earth.
Lift us above the fog of oppression, above the noise of men, above the dust of earthly distraction, above the pressure of warfare that seeks to pin our souls to the ground.
Cause us to walk upon waters that once threatened to drown us.
Let what was sent to sink us become the place where we witness Your sustaining power.
Train our feet like hinds’ feet.
Establish our goings in Yeshua’s name .. Strengthen our ankles in the Spirit.
Let us not sink beneath the weight of this hour.
Father, put upon us Your whole armour.
Gird our loins with truth.
Put on us the breastplate of righteousness.
Shod our feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace… Let the shield of faith quench every fiery dart of the wicked.
Set the helmet of salvation securely upon our minds…
Place in our hands the sword of the Spirit, which is Your Word.
And teach us to pray always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit.
- In times of warfare, cover us.
- In times of weariness, cover us.
- In times of confusion, cover us.
- In times of grief, cover us.
- In times when we do not even have language for what we feel, let Your Spirit intercede through us with groanings that cannot be uttered.
- Shield our minds from intrusive thoughts.
- Shield our minds from thoughts of giving up.
- Shield us from suicidal thoughts, from depression, from oppression, from self-hatred, from condemnation, from the temptation to disappear, withdraw, or abandon our post.
In the name of Jesus, let every assignment against the mental and emotional stability of intercessors be broken.
Let every spirit of heaviness, weariness, hopelessness, and psychic pressure lose its grip now.
Keep our hearts guarded from offense.
Guard us from regret, bitterness and unforgiveness.
Abba guard us from wounds that harden the heart, from disappointments that distort perception…
Guard us from old pain that tries to speak louder than Your promises.
- Do not let betrayal poison our prayer life.
- Do not let offense corrupt our discernment.
- Do not let grief turn into bitterness.
- Do not let suffering make us unable to trust You.
Father, we refuse to retrogress and we refuse to regress.
- We will not go backward in our spirit.
- We will not surrender ground gained through tears, fasting, obedience, and warfare.
- We will not let the enemy convince us that because we are challenged, we are disqualified.
- We will not accept the lie that because we are tired, we are finished.
- We will not believe the whisper that because we are wounded, we are rejected.
Be our rear guard.
Go before us and stand behind us. Surround us on every side. Cover our vulnerable places. Close breaches. Seal openings. Guard what You have deposited in us.
- Preserve the call.
- Preserve the fire.
- Preserve the mantle.
- Preserve the burden.
- Preserve our yes.
Gird us with Your truth, for we refuse to believe the lies of the enemy that say we are unworthy, unloved, abandoned, disqualified, forgotten, or cast off because of challenges.
- Your Word declares that we are accepted in the Beloved.
- Your Word declares that whom You called, them You also justified.
- Your Word declares that Your gifts and calling are without repentance.
So let truth thunder louder than accusation.
Let covenant speak louder than condemnation. Let mercy triumph over judgment.
Be the glory and the lifter of our heads.
- Lift the head that hangs low.
- Lift the heart that has been crushed.
- Lift the intercessor who has cried in secret.
- Lift the watchman who grew weary on the wall.
- Lift the one who has poured out for others and now feels empty.
- Lift the one who still loves You but feels exhausted.
- Lift the one who still believes but has been battered by life…
- Lift the one who cannot even explain the warfare, only feel its weight.
Father, let fresh oil be poured out upon Your intercessors.
- Let there be fresh strength, fresh love, fresh vision, fresh stamina, fresh hearing, fresh discernment, and fresh fire.
- Let prayer not be a burden of performance, but a place of union.
- Let intercession not become mechanical, but alive again with the breath of God.
- Let tears return where hearts became dry.
- Let authority return where heaviness tried to silence.
- Let worship rise where sorrow tried to suffocate.
- Let holy language return where pain stole words.
And above all, Father, bring us back to Yourself.
- Not merely to function.
- Not merely to ministry.
- Not merely to assignment.
But to You!
- Let us love Your presence again more than platforms, more than outcomes, more than answers, more than relief.
- Let intimacy become our restoration. Let communion become our medicine.
- Let nearness become our healing.
We thank You that You are not only the God who calls intercessors, but the God who sustains them.
You are not only the One who sends us, but the One who keeps us.
You are not only The LORD of the burden, but the Shepherd of the burden-bearer.
So tonight we lay our minds before You.
We lay our tears before You, the fatigue.
We lay all our silent battles before You.
We lay our hidden sorrows before You.
We lay our whole being before You.
And we ask heal us, restore us, revive us, realign us, cover us, and raise us again.
In the name of Jesus Christ our Messiah! Hallelujah!
Shalom
