Bringing a Household to Salvation
Prayer, Faith and Obedience
God works in the individual to reach the many.
The Word says, “Many are called, but few are chosen.” (Matthew 22:14)
During a political election, there are many candidates, but only a few are elected to carry out the mandate.
Similarly, in the Christian life, to save an entire family, God calls the individual first from among them.
What a wonderful thing it is that the individual called in each family can bring salvation to his or her entire household! (as in Acts 16:31)
However it is not always a pleasant or easy journey.
Often the one called is molded and shaped for the calling in the face of great opposition, so much so, that at times it almost seems as if God is punishing them.
The rest of the family members many times do not have an understanding for the things of the Kingdom of God and can be entirely antagonistic, if not hostile towards the one carrying the Light.
We see in the life of Joseph an example of this pattern. (see Genesis 37)
It is easy to become discouraged when we witness the hardness of our loved ones’ hearts.
It is only natural that we feel this because we are human and subject to the frailty of our human condition.
However as we lift our hearts and prayers in faith to secure God’s Promises, this gives us the strength to persevere even through the rejection that we face, because we know that God’s Words never fail.
We must remember that grapes, if not pressed, do not yield their juice, nor do olives, if not pressed, yield their oil.
Through our loyalty, obedience, and faithfulness to our LORD, Heavenly provisions and empowerments are released to press upon the conscience and hearts of our loved ones that will eventually bring contrition to their hearts.
In the midst of the process, though hostilities are levelled at us, we need to remain firm and steadfast in The LORD’s promises, trusting Him to to be faithful to bring our people into encounter with His love.
Our Prayer to You Father
Heavenly Father, our hearts rejoice because You have called us to continue the work of salvation begun by Your beloved Son Jesus.
Today we ask You to continue transforming our lives and molding us into the image of Christ.
All that still lingers of the flesh in our lives, bring it out and burn it.
Give us a transformed heart, full of love and mercy, because those who meet us must see You, not us.
Let our hands touch and heal those who weep and cry out to You.
May our tongues be anointed with the oil of joy to help those who have lived in solitude for too long.
Save those You have already placed on the path to salvation and grant them true discernment in this time of spiritual fog.
Rekindle the gifts in Your Church and train men and women for one great purpose: to see Your Bride ready for the return of Her Husband.
Father, strengthen those who in these times find themselves in enemy territory; rescue their souls from the clutches of Satan.
Father, reach out to our brothers and sisters who are persecuted or imprisoned because of Your Word.
Illuminate our path with Your Presence and bring peace to our hearts.
Embrace us and shelter us under your wings of love.
Thank you for everything.
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, we pray.
Amen
