Do It Like Jesus!
Do It Like Jesus:
Turn the Tables On the Devil, Whip the Thief Out!
When our LORD Jesus Christ went into The Temple of God in Jerusalem and, with a whip of cords, drove out of The Temple all the illegal actors, and overturned their tables and seats, it was a very important prophetic demonstration of spiritual warfare: how we are to deal with the enemy, drive him out of God’s Temple (our body, our life) today.
There has never been, and there will never be a more important Temple of God than The Temple of our body, our life. We are God’s most important Temple ever, His eternal Temple. Hallelu-YAH!
“Or do you not know that your body is The Temple of The Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s,” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.
“Do you not know that you are The Temple of God and that The Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles The Temple of God, God will destroy him. For The Temple of God is holy, which Temple you are,” 1 Corinthians 3:16-17.
“And what agreement has The Temple of God with idols? For you are The Temple of The Living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.” 2 Corinthians 6:16.
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” Romans 12:1.
My beloved brethren (James 1:16), whatever is not “holy, acceptable to God”, drive it out! Whip the illegal actors out of The Temple of God — your body, your life.
Is it sin, sickness, family problems, financial troubles, ministry headaches? Whatever it is, whip it out with The Blood of Jesus Christ; yes, fire them out, hammer them out with The Word (Revelation 12:9; Jeremiah 23:29).
Take the posture of Jesus and violently drive them out! Like Jesus, don’t tolerate, don’t accommodate any illegality in The Temple of God. (Please study John 2:13-15; Matthew 21:12, 13; Mark 11:15-17; Luke 19: 45-46 ).
For,
“from the days of John the Baptist until now The Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force,” Matthew 11:12.
Do not allow illegality in your body, in your life.
“And He said to them, “It is written, ‘My House shall be called a House of Prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’” Matthew 21:13.
Our body, our being are The House, The Temple of God for the service of God, and not for thieves (the devil, his evil angels and human agents).
Therefore, give no place to the devil. (Ephesians 4:27). If you give the devil a bit of place he will take the whole place.
Violently drive out of The Temple of God all the illegal actors, overturn their tables and seats. Turn the tables on the devil; deal with the devil!
Grace Ryerson Roos, a very wonderful sister of yesteryear, was a great warrior — “a good soldier of Jesus Christ.” (2 Timothy 2:3).
She shared a greatly indispensable Word of testimony in one of her books, “The Blood”:
“Several years ago the Holy Spirit taught me a lesson in spiritual warfare that I have never forgotten, and I have used it successfully many times since.
I was sitting in my living room praying, when in a vision I saw the outside door open and a giant of a man step into the room, closing the door behind him.
He had a sneering grin on his face and in my heart I knew he was a demon spirit. I ordered him to leave the house. He threw back his head and laughed mockingly. I repeated my order emphatically.
Again he just laughed, highly amused. I jumped out of my chair and faced him. Pointing to the door, I commanded, “In the Name of the Lord Jesus, get out of here!”
He roared with laughter, utterly unconcerned.
Then to emphasize I was nothing in his sight, he reached for me with his long, powerful arms and picked me off my feet, cradling me against his chest like one would a baby. I was very indignant and began beating his head with my fists, ordering him with every breath to put me down.
He laughed the harder, overcome with mirth that I should even try to fight him. Look at his size! I did not have a chance! I created so much fuss, however, he finally put me back on my feet.
I stood there looking up at him, praying silently, “LORD, what do I do now?” Immediately I felt the handle of a long whip slipped into my hand, and then I KNEW what to do.
I raised that whip (which represented The Blood of our victorious LORD Jesus) and whipped him unmercifully with it. He was startled but gave no sign that he noticed the beating, continuing to laugh mockingly at me.
But I KNEW the power of this whip and faithfully applied it to him with all the strength and determination I had. He kept up his bold front of unconcern and confident victory — but suddenly I noticed the mocking light in his eyes was fading and an unwilling look of respect took its place.
I immediately took courage and renewed my attack, commanding him on the authority of The Blood of Jesus Christ to leave my home at once. Continuing to laugh, yet seeking to deceive me to the end, he tried to hold his ground, but suddenly overcome with the POWER of that victorious Holy Blood, he opened the door and fled.
Another time I came out against Satan in definite conflict. I knew I was fighting the powers of darkness in a certain matter and the way to victory was to deal with them, not the individual they were using.
I walked up and down the room, witnessing to Satan ALOUD that Jesus had given me victory over him and all his works and I resisted him here and now.
Suddenly the Holy Spirit rose within me and spoke through my lips, “I chastise you, Satan, with the Blood of The LORD Jesus Christ.”
Immediately I felt the opposing wall of darkness begin to recede. Seizing my advantage, I repeated the statement exactly as the Spirit Himself had worded it.
Again I felt the “give” in the opposition. I continued to fight the unseen adversary until I Knew he had fled and I had “overcome him with The Blood of the Lamb and The Word of my testimony.”
God will not permit us to slip back into the easier way of begging God to undertake and refuse to shoulder our share of the fight and develop our “soldier” potentials that make us ever more valuable to Him.
He wants courageous followers, trained fighters who KNOW HOW to force the battle and take the victory.
The LORD wants YOU and ME to gain the victory. He wants US to stand our ground and not give place to the devil. He wants us to learn first hand just how mighty IS the POWER that is in The
Blood of Jesus. It is not written for nothing that they “overcame him (Satan) by The Blood of The Lamb and The Word of their testimony,” (Revelation 12:11).
Take up the whip of the Blood of the Lamb and fight the battle you are IN NOW.
Stand on your ground, declare openly to Satan that this is your ground and you hold it by virtue of the Blood of The LORD Jesus Christ.
Keep testifying to him that you are more than a conqueror through that same GLORIOUS Blood and he has already been defeated at Calvary.
Witness to him of his defeat — let him know that you know he is a conquered foe and only holds his position by bluff and deceit.
It is The Blood of JESUS that Satan fears and runs from. We must identify the Blood that we bring to our defense. It is something I never fail to do.
It is Jesus who secured our victory. It was Jesus who shed His Blood!
It was Jesus who purchased us with His own Blood and defeated the Satanic hordes forever!
Rejoice and give heed — let His Blood cover you and prevail for you constantly.”
Brother, sister, chastise the devil with The Blood of Jesus. Relentlessly DEAL with the murderer!
Also, very importantly, ask The LORD to use you really and truly as His House of Prayer, to pray like Jesus.
You are God’s House; the enemy must not turn you into a den of thieves!
Don’t “go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy” (Psalm 42:9; 43:2). Rather, overturn the enemy’s tables and seats in your life; overthrow Satan and Satan’s throne out of your life.
Do it like JESUS!
“The LORD Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.” 2 Timothy 4:22.
“Farewell” Acts 15:29.
~ Jacob Awagah
Jacob, an apostle of Jesus Christ by The Will of God, according to The Promise of Life which is in Christ Jesus, (2 Timothy 1:1). As John was, Jacob is the disciple whom JESUS loves, (John 13:23;19:26; 20:2; 21:7,20). And like Paul, Jacob is “the prisoner of CHRIST JESUS” (Ephesians 3:1) for His Purpose forever: to obey Him always.
“And having been perfected, He became The Author of Eternal Salvation to all who obey Him,” Hebrews 5:9.
Powerful. Thank you .
Amen Tak Herre
