Four Steps to Bring Clarity to Your Destiny
As the world is constantly changing, one thing has not changed and that is God’s love for us. We can rest in the fact that He has a destiny and calling for us all.
There are no limits to what you can do through God’s love and power and the Holy Spirit.
A Bible verse that is really important to get in your spirit right now is:
“Everything is possible for one who believes,” Mark 9:23b NIV.
We all have the potential for a high calling, which often requires time and effort to develop. Sadly, most people give up during the training and testing process.
Quite often we are not able to see our purpose and destiny, so we are required to rely on faith until it is revealed more clearly. For me, I knew early on in life that I was called by God to do something to change the world, but I didn’t know what it was.
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see,” Hebrews 11:1 NIV.
We need to live this principle of faith and be certain of God’s intentions for us, even though we may not see them yet.
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will,” Romans 12:2 NIV.
Renewing your mind involves replacing your old mindset with a new one. Your new mindset is who you are becoming, not who you are or were.
The Bible compares this transformation to stepping away from the picture of your old self and putting on a picture of your new self (Ephesians 4:22–24).
God sees you as who you are becoming, or in your full potential. For example, in Judges 6, Gideon is hiding in fear, and an angel comes and calls him a mighty man of valor. God treated Gideon the way He saw him in the future.
And in John 1:40–42, Simon had just met Jesus. Even though he was still flaky, Jesus told him, “You shall be called Cephas,” (or Peter) which means, “rock.” Jesus treated him the way He saw him in the future, not how he was at that moment.
4 steps to bring clarity
Here are a few steps that you can take right now to move closer to your destiny. This will help you if you are just starting out or even if you have been following God for a long time.
- What has God spoken to you about yourself or your current season of life?
- What do you feel inside you are destined to do?
- What Bible verses best match this?
- Begin to pray and meditate on these things and ask God to speak to you about them.
As you get intentional about pursuing God’s calling and destiny for your life, things will become more clear.
The key is to begin seeing yourself and those around you in your full potential in God. See yourself as God sees you, not as you once were or even as you are now.
By faith get a picture of who you are becoming in God. As you begin to live in this new mindset and vision, it will not take long to become reality.
