Being still is not always easy to do.
When you are anxious, it seems like the last thing you really want to do. There are control issues we have that, being still, don’t seem to go away like we would wish.
As if the issue is just waiting for you to be still so it can trip you up. There is an adversary that likes to stomp on your issues to make sure they still have you riled up.
But is there an answer, that would stand the test of time, that will effectively bring you into the stillness you need?
It will always be found in The Word of God, and in the Presence of The LORD.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, bring your requests unto God; and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7.
“Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10.
“Submit yourselves, then to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” James 4:7.
“Ho, Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come buy and eat. Yes , come buy and eat, without money and without price. Why do you spend money for what is not bread. And your wages for what does not satisfy. Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in abundance. Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live.” Isaiah 55:1-3.
“You are of God little children, and that evil one touches you not; (you have overcome them), for greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.” 1 John 4: 4.
“The Word That Is Sent, the Rhema Word of God, will increase your faith to be still before The LORD. For faith comes by hearing, and hear by the Rhema Word of God.” Romans 10:17.
“I send forth My Word, it will not return to Me voided, or cancelled out. It will accomplish the purpose for which I sent it.” Isaiah 5:11.
“Come unto Me, all you who labor, and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11: 28-30.
“Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7.
“Come into the Holy of Holies
Enter by the Blood of the Lamb
Come into His Presence with singing
Worship at the Throne of God
Lifting holy hands
To the King of Kings
Worship…Jesus.” (©Pete Sanchez, Jr. Hosanna! Music).
Be Still My Soul
“Be still my soul, and listen, for God will speak to thee
And while the tempest is raging, thy refuge He will be
Be still, and cease to struggle
Seek not to understand
The flames will not destroy thee
Thou art in the Father’s Hand.
And while the burden’s heavy He seeks to make thee pure
To give you faith and patience, and courage to endure
The way is not too hard for thee, endure the chastening rod
Thy gold shall only be refined
Thy Gold Shall Only Be Refined.”
