Prayer for Those Battling Depression, Despair, and Thoughts of Suicide
Adonai Elohim, Father of mercies and God of all comfort, we come before You in the mighty name of Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, Deliverer, High Priest, and Shepherd of our souls.
Father, we lift before You every person struggling beneath the weight of depression, despair, heaviness, hopelessness, torment, and thoughts of suicide.
We lift up those weary in mind, wounded in heart, crushed in spirit, and overwhelmed by the pressures of life.
We lift up those smiling outwardly but breaking inwardly; those who feel invisible, unloved, unwanted, forgotten, rejected, abandoned, or like a burden to others.
Adonai, have Mercy.
Let Your compassion move swiftly toward them.
Let Your light break into every dark place.
Let Your love reach the places in their soul where pain has become louder than hope.
In the name of Yeshua, and by the power of The Holy Spirit, we come against every antagonizing spirit, tormenting spirit, spirit of heaviness, despair, suicide, premature death, rejection, hopelessness, abandonment, and every false burden placed upon the soul.
We rebuke every assignment sent to steal peace, kill hope, destroy identity, and pull precious souls into an early grave.
Father, silence every lie and voice of the enemy.
Silence the voice that tells them they are unworthy, that their lives are not worth living, that they are failing beyond repair, that they are unloved, unseen, unwanted, or forgotten.
Silence the voice that tells them death is the only escape. Let the voice of the Shepherd arise over them with truth, mercy, love, and life.
In the name of Yeshua, we declare that every covenant with death is disannulled and every agreement with hell shall not stand.
Every vow, spoken or unspoken, conscious or unconscious, made in despair, trauma, grief, fear, rejection, shame, abuse, or torment is renounced and broken by The Blood of Jesus Christ.
Every voice calling them to an early grave, every voice summoning them to death, every ancestral voice, familiar voice, demonic voice, traumatic voice, accusatory voice, mocking voice, oppressive voice, and tormenting voice calling them out of the land of the living, be silenced by the authority of Yeshua HaMashiach.
We declare: they shall not die, but live, and declare the works of The LORD.
Father, we pray against the negative effects of the systems of this world: systems that crush the poor, burden families, exploit weakness, glorify violence, normalize perversion, monetize attention, isolate people, reward image over truth, and make human beings feel disposable.
We pray for those crushed by economic pressure, debt, job loss, housing instability, lack of food, medical bills, family burdens, loneliness, social rejection, discrimination, trauma, abuse, and the constant pressure to survive.
Father, make a way for them.
Send provision. Send help. Send advocates. Send safe people. Send divine intervention.
Let no one under unbearable pressure believe that death is the answer.
Father, we pray for the mind.
Let every tormenting thought be interrupted by The Holy Spirit.
Let every mental loop of despair, fear, shame, failure, and hopelessness be broken.
Let intrusive thoughts lose their power.
Let the imagination be cleansed.
Let the mind be renewed by Your Word.
We cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and we bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
Let the mind of Christ be established.
Let peace return.
Let clarity return.
Let soundness return.
Let rest return.
Let hope return.
Father, we pray for the brokenhearted, for Your Word says You are nigh unto them that are of a broken heart and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
Draw near to the wounded.
Save those crushed in spirit.
Let no one believe they are too damaged for Your love.
Let the rejected know they are accepted in the Beloved.
Let the abused know they are not defiled beyond cleansing.
Let the ashamed know there is mercy.
Let the grieving know You are near.
Let the weary know they can rest in You.
Father, we pray against false burdens.
Every burden that was never assigned by You, lift it now.
Every weight of false guilt, false responsibility, generational pressure, people-pleasing, condemnation, shame, and emotional bondage, be removed in Yeshua’s name.
Yeshua said, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” {Matthew 11:28-29)
So LORD, give them rest.
Let the yoke of the oppressor be broken.
Let the false burden be lifted.
Let the soul breathe again.
Father, according to Isaiah 61:3, give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.
Clothe them with praise.
Clothe them with hope.
Clothe them with strength.
Clothe them with Your presence.
Let worship rise where weeping has been.
Let joy rise where mourning has been.
Let life rise where death has whispered.
Let light rise where darkness has gathered.
Father, send divine interruption to anyone who is close to harming themselves. Interrupt the plan. Interrupt the moment. Interrupt the thought. Interrupt the access.
Send a phone call.
Send a knock at the door.
Send a message.
Send a neighbor.
Send an angel.
Send a crisis worker.
Send a loved one.
Send a stranger.
Send help from Zion even come YOURSELF FATHER!
Let every deadly plan be frustrated by mercy.
Pull back those standing at the edge emotionally, mentally, physically, or spiritually by Your mighty hand.
Let them feel Your presence.
Let them know they are not alone.
Father, surround them with safe people.
Give them courage to speak.
Give them strength to ask for help.
Remove shame from seeking support.
Lead them to wise counselors, compassionate pastors, trustworthy friends, medical care where needed, deliverance where needed, rest where needed, and practical assistance where needed.
Let The Church not be careless with the wounded.
Let families not dismiss warning signs.
Let friends not mock pain.
Let leaders not shame the suffering.
Let communities become places of refuge.
We plead The Blood of Yeshua over their minds, bodies, souls, spirits, dreams, sleep, emotions, nervous systems, memories, hearts, homes, and futures.
Let The Blood speak better things than the voice of accusation.
Let The Blood speak mercy.
Let The Blood speak redemption.
Let The Blood speak cleansing.
Let The Blood speak life.
We ask for angelic assistance over those in crisis. Let ministering spirits be sent forth to those who shall be heirs of salvation.
Guard them in the night watches.
Guard them in moments of panic.
Guard them in moments of isolation.
Guard them in moments when the enemy tries to intensify the darkness.
Adonai, meet every child, teenager, young adult, parent, man, woman, elder, caregiver, grieving soul, poor and burdened person, chronically ill person, abused person, and silent sufferer who feels they cannot continue.
Let hope arise.
Let help come.
Let life win.
We declare that depression will not have the final word.
Despair will not have the final word.
Trauma will not have the final word.
Poverty will not have the final word.
Rejection will not have the final word.
Shame will not have the final word.
The grave will not have the final word. Yeshua has the final word, and His word is life.
We speak life over the weary, life over the broken, life over the oppressed, life over the lonely, life over the rejected, life over the ashamed, life over the suicidal, life over those who feel invisible, and life over those who feel like they cannot continue.
In Yeshua’s name, let them live.
Let them recover.
Let them heal.
Let them be restored.
Let them see the goodness of The LORD in the land of the living.
The grave shall not receive them prematurely.
The enemy shall not harvest their pain.
The voice of death shall not prevail.
The spirit of heaviness shall be exchanged for the garment of praise.
The false burden shall be lifted.
The tormenting voice shall be silenced.
The covenant with death shall be disannulled.
The agreement with hell shall not stand.
Father, make us sensitive.
Make us discerning.
Make us compassionate.
Teach us not to downplay people’s suffering.
Teach us not to be religious but loveless.
Teach us not to offer empty words when practical help is needed.
Teach us to pray, listen, check in, intervene, and carry the heart of Yeshua toward the broken.
Raise up watchmen who weep, intercessors who discern, shepherds who protect, friends who notice, families who listen, and communities that choose life.
Adonai, cover Your children. In the name of Yeshua HaMashiach, by the power of the Ruach HaKodesh, we declare life, healing, deliverance, restoration, peace, and hope.
In Yeshua’s matchless name I pray!
Be glorified on the earth!
Shalom
