Distinguishing Between Half-truths and Truth
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” 2 Timothy 3:1-5

For they knew a time would come when someone would stand up to deceive many in The Body of Christ.
I tell you that you live in tumultuous times. You are living in an era when it will be hard to distinguish between half-truths and truth.
But if one would watch an archer they would see that he very slowly is pulling back his bow to release the arrow.
He studies the target, and then with great precision he leases the arrow. He knows where the target is; he has studied it.
This is the way of Truth. For My Word has been released and it has been sent out, and it has hit the target.
But some now have altered the arrows. They have taken my arrows and they have bent them.
For now, some are attempting to turn the entire system upside down. This is now being played out in the political system of America.
Watch and wait.”

Thank you Stephen. I am not a grammarian. It was the Holy Spirit who alerted me to this false teaching. There was a movie, “Fifty Shades of Grey.” It would be difficult for me to distinguish one shade of grey from another. I am reliant on the Spirit of Truth (John 14:17), even though I own a set of VWS. I don’t fear ambiguous doctrine, not because I own a few books on systematic theology, but because of the light of the Holy Spirit.

Peter, keep in mind that what most if not all believers really need, is the ability to discern “in the Spirit” these things, not some word study. It’s not always simply a matter of “words” but oftentimes, the “spirit” behind the message. Certainly words contain truth or falsehood, but God can and does give His children the ability to discern these things as well. Selah`
I read that satan’s preferred ratio is a mixture of 10% false and 90% truth. I received a Word that a false teaching will enter the church and we would need to use Vincent’s Word Studies to correct the false teaching. VWS (4 vols) can be downloaded for free from the internet, but for how long?
