Are you ready to hear God more clearly?
Do you need a breakthrough in an area of your life?
We are just a few weeks away from an important time called Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur — the Days of Awe.
These holidays celebrate the Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashanah) which falls on September 9–11 and continue through the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) which falls on September 18–19 this year.
This is a time when the heavens are opened more than usual because God is revealing and releasing your destiny for the coming year!
Even though we are no longer under the Jewish Law and God operates on different calendars, this is a wonderful time to hear the voice of God and prepare for the coming season.
How to prepare
I want to assure you that there is no need to be legalistic about the Days of Awe.
Try not to be discouraged or disappointed if something specific doesn’t happen between September 9th–19th, or if what happens doesn’t turn out the way you expect or think.
God is always speaking, and He knows exactly what you need!
Over the past few years, I have made it a point to write down what I hear in my journal during the Days of Awe — I encourage you to do the same.
When I go back and look in my journal, I have noticed that God was speaking to me, but I may not have realized it. It may not have been on the exact dates of the Days of Awe, but the season has been a great time of revealing strategy concerning destiny!
Now is a good time to finish some projects that haven’t been completed.
If God called you to do something and you haven’t done it yet, begin tying up loose ends as much as you can from the previous season to prepare for what is coming.
You can do what I do. I take communion daily, and pray and declare Bible verses like these three:
“He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him,” Daniel 2:22 NIV.
“The mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations but is now disclosed to the Lord’s people,” Colossians 1:26 NIV.
“After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this,” Revelation 4:1 NIV.
God is speaking through dreams
One way God speaks to us is through dreams and visions. There have been times when I needed to hear the voice of God, so I simply asked Him to give me a dream!
You can expect an increase in your dreams and to hear God more clearly during this time.
“For God may speak in one way, or in another,
Yet man does not perceive it.
In a dream, in a vision of the night,
When deep sleep falls upon men,
While slumbering on their beds,
Then He opens the ears of men,And seals their instruction.”
Job 33:14–16 NKJV
Step into what God has for you and refuse to be distracted by the negativity that may be happening around you.
God’s awesomeness and presence is being revealed right now.
Listen up! The things that were sealed are now being revealed!
