Last week in the middle of prayer, The LORD showed me a flash of an image (depicted in the enclosed picture to the best of my ability). I saw the swinging of a maul and its impact on the face of a cut log. I watched as with each swing the maul sunk deeper into the wood until it began to split.
I asked the LORD what this meant and this is what He said. “There is a separation taking place between My people and the world. It is the truth which is bringing this about. With each swing the maul goes deeper and the division is made greater.”
Without a doubt we are witnessing a division between the (true) church and the world. If there ever was a parallel path between the two, they are now separating and heading in their own directions. While this world chases after false hopes, false faith and false security the church is learning to put its hope in God and in God alone.
Not only is the truth making apparent those who are of the world versus those who a part of God’s Kingdom, it is causing increased animosity towards God’s people. As the paths of the church and the world separate it is increasingly apparent that God’s people are an entirely “other than” creation. We march to the beat of a different drum, so to speak.
Another way to look at this is like a fissure. While one may presently be able to jump from one side to the other it will not remain this way for long. The gap is widening. We must choose a side knowing that this will be our permanent choice.
This world knows nothing of absolute truth. In the shifting sands of relativity a shaking can already be felt. That which is built on the rock will stand. That which is build on the sand will fall flat.
“…if it is evil in your eyes to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve…
But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD” Joshua 24:15.
