What Time Is It?
There is a song that came out in the 70’s called, “Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?” The band Chicago played and produced the song, and asked us further: “Does anyone really care — about time?”
Man has always measured time and has broken up each day into segments to help him in his endeavors and work. But God is timeless and everlasting – He exists beyond time and the confines of this world.
But even in these last days with all of the progression and sophistication of technology, man still does not know the hour that he is living in. We can keep track of time to the precise moments of seconds and minutes.
Races can be scored with ultimate precision to access the winner, and exercise equipment can monitor our heart rates and cholesterol. Even our watches now can keep track of our blood pressure and the steps that we take.
But with all of these amazing strides in technology, many are still in a state of slumber and unawareness. We’ve become so dependent upon these gadgets, that we have lost view of how close we are to the midnight hour.
We are told that the tribe of Issachar knew the times and the seasons. They were aware of the hour that they were living in.
“Of the sons of Issachar, men who understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their kinsmen were at their command,” 1 Chronicles 12:32.
And yet it seems that it is getting close to the time of being ‘too late.’ The hands on the clock have moved so rapidly that many can’t even see how close we are to midnight. With every month and year that passes, we are within just minutes of that hour.
One can keep track of the seasons that we see around us as the leaves fall off the trees and winter approaches. We know when spring is just around the corner as the barren branches now begin to bud and show the first signs of green.
And then within just a couple of months or more, everything is carpeted with a myriad of different textures and colors of green.
But spiritual seasons don’t follow the seasons of nature. They are on their own time clock. One can’t simply look out their windows and see a change in this type of season, but there are ways of recognizing them.
When one hears and recognizes that divisions are on the rise all around us, between rich and poor, black and white, republican and democrat, even within the body of Christ, then we know that we are in the midst of a stormy season.
When we hear that great promises are ahead for us as a nation as a new leader emerges, then we can know that “peace and safety” is echoed, but as we are told, then sudden destruction will come upon them.
When we see countless people around us who believe everything they read on social media, then we can know what season we are in. When we hear sermon after sermon that ignores sin, but only cites monetary gain and our promises, we can know what season we are in.
When we see a greater and greater disparity between rich and poor, then this season is upon us. When we see knowledge increasing by the minute, but wisdom diminishing, then this season is here.
As I’ve said here, time is an instrument created by God, and yet it is becoming more and more evident that we are indeed living in the last days, and that the hour is now very late.
Several years ago, the LORD told me about how time will speed-up. Below is one of these messages:
The Prophetic Time Table Will Increase
March 12, 2005
“I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD,” Joel 2:30-31.
“But you, Daniel, close up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge,” Daniel 12:4.
I have said that in the last days that knowledge would increase. It is at a rapid rate of increase at the moment, but it will be part of man’s demise.
I have spoken and said that time will increase in these days. Indeed, these things are true. These things are true to the degree that the prophetic time table of events will be tilted on a balance scale.
The clock will click, but its hands will move at a far more rapid rate. When you hear of rumors of other nations building up their nuclear arsenals, you will then see the events of these things happening at a far more rapid rate.
I am the God of the universe and I have a plan for every man and woman upon the earth. The days are short. Many will fall in this hour, but those who are close to Me will shine like the stars in the heavens.”
Selah,

Stephen Hanson of In His Truth Ministries came to the LORD is a special way in 1975 and has prophesied regularly since. In these end-time birthing pangs we are reminded that judgment must first begin with the household of God. Will we be prepared and ready?
